Harry Potter isn't an isekai, since the magical world of HP exists in our world it's just kept secret from muggles. Narnia would be an isekai since they where transported from our world to an entirely different one.

Not really, it diverges so much from UC itself and the changes are explained in the second episode. To someone who watches Gundam it's to show the changes themselves whereas for new viewers it shows the backstory as well as explain some terms like newtype to them. Also, since this is Side 6 it works as a good blank canvas since they where largely neutral in the OYW with only the events of War in the Pocket happening there, which didn't happen in this timeline so they are a blank canvas.
