Watched this for the first time without knowing what the fuck was going on.
Not gonna lie, I skipped through 6 7 and 8.
Who the fuck thought this would be a good idea? Three or four times was already more than enough.
What a shitty fucking idea. Don't even come talking about it being artistic or daring, just a waste of resources and time.
Not even going to bother watching the rest of the anime, what a fucking piece of shit.

e8 continues filtering plebs from getting to disappearance, good

It's very well directed

people are still getting absolutely FILTERED by endless 8 in 2025

skipped

Retard.

I watched all of it and thought they handled the concept very poorly.

No, they handled it perfectly. You dislike the concept but the execution is a 10

would it have made any difference had I watched them all?
At one point one of the episodes hint at "planes" being the answer and that went nowhere.
I just skipped to the end of the eight one to see what the punchline was.
To be fair I thought it was bold as fuck to do that, animating the same thing 3 or 4 times. But 8 times? Fuck off.

Not really, there is plot significance behind E8, one is the message behind it (which is worth 1 chapter of LN, it wasn't 8 there), aka Kyon needing to just go for something-ANYTHING, which is kind of the message of Haruhi as a whole really... And then there's another thing but you need to finish watching all of Haruhi or I'd spoil it

I can only imagine going through all eight of them as they aired, once a week. Whoever convinced the studios and tv stations must have been a genius.

You didnt watch the show
Holy shit you're retarded

As much as I empathize with the complaint of not having new plot content for 6 weeks, I think it's fantastic as a visual work. Every episode is quite different from the other ones. Soundtrack and voice acting have lots of nuances and every episode has its own highlight, specific atmosphere... But then again most people would defend it based on how it adds a lot of weight to the movie.

Endless Eight makes sense when you realize that the entire show is about haruhi messing with reality at the expense of the SOS (and the viewer).
Really the only difference, is E8 pushes the desperation of that further than the other arcs.

It's an allegory about speedwatchers who watch anime just to be able to say they have been watching them. It filters the fake fans.

another anon filtered

would it have made any difference had I watched them all?

Yes. It makes a big damn difference. But now you will never experience it because the show already filtered you out from the experience.

Stop being a faggot and go watch it

Don't even come talking about it being artistic or daring

This is indisputably true though.

weakbait.jpg

You gotta troll harder than that.

Well... Yeah. Even though I said what I said in the OP it is pretty ballsy to pull that off.
Up until that point I was impressed by the anime. Really one that stepped out of cliché zone.
I guess I'm just angry over the waste of time and little reward.
I know I'll go back and watch the rest eventually, I'm just mad right now.

make a filler to cash out with the movie

nooooo yo don't understand

it isn't a filler the main plot beats are straight from the light novels.
The main difference is the number of loops, 3 in LN's, 8 in anime.

Welp, the point is to make you suffer like Yuki did which explains her reasoning for going haywire and stealing Haruhi's power in disapperance.

There are 15,532 loops, dummy

ye it's just slice of life slop. go watch real men anime like lain

real representation of summer especially in hot places
you almost think summer is eternal

I can only imagine going through all eight of them as they aired, once a week

I'm old and actually did watch when it aired. Everyone defending it from today's vantage point completely misses how awful it was at the time.

The first loop, I thought I accidentally downloaded the previous week's episode. When I realized what happened, I thought it was pretty clever, and expected KyoAni to end the arc the following week. When it looped again, I was disappointed and started to lose interest. Then it kept happening, and I started jumping to the end of each episode, rather than watching the same story every week.

Some of you might jump immediately to >filtered
However, that wasn't the problem at the time. The issue was the loss of most of season 2. You have to remember that Haruhi was still an enormous cultural force then. Everyone was so excited to finally get more Haruhi, only for it to be snatched away by E8. With where KyoAni is today after the fire, I don't think any real fan can honestly say he'd rather have E8 as eight episodes over seeing more Haruhi content animated using that production time.

honestly e8 wouldn't be so hated if more seasons existed.
The lack of it makes it even worse since e8 is one of the last arcs in the anime.

This. Most of S2 being Endless Eight fucking killed it for me. Every week was disappointment because it was another EE episode instead of new content. And then there was never a S3.

KYON-KUN!
DENWA!

I think the novelty wore off when the 5th one went back to normal after the 4th one was uniquely moody. Everything after 4 felt like a waste of time. Unless I outright skipped 6 and 7 and forgot; it's been so long that I can't say for sure.

キョンくん電話

Haruhi is shit and everyone who likes it is shit.

Haruhi is a great anime and Disappearance is a cinematic masterpiece.
Your taste is shit.

I like it for the immersion. It truly feels like insanity. Poor Yuki, I watched it all for Yuki.

Wow so you got filtered in real time

I admit that it's a very different experience watching it alone and in a playlist rather than watching weekly episodes with other anons. The threads where we all suffered the madness together were better than the show. Not having a support group during the ordeal makes it torturous and I don't blame people for thinking it's dumb when they encounter it for the first time now.
Anyone who skips is still a faggot though.

From what?

The LN has one loop, the final one iirg

It's only "bad" in the sense that we want more Haruhi but on its own it's really good

Don't listen to anyone Haruhi is about a bunch of Chuunis pretending like shit us happening because they are bored.
