Am I autistic or does anime do way too much bloom, effects, music and overanimation nowadays? Whenever I try watching new anime, the blaring music, and all the shit mentioned above just makes me too over stimulated.

Where's calmer, desolate, slightly gloomier and more atmospheric animes? What happened to actually having an atmosphere?

what you refer to as "bloom" is in fact more properly called the "lidenfilms blur" and is used to hide the fact that every scene is drawn in a different country, none of which are japan

What are some anime that don't do this in the modern day?

Bloom

effects

What anime do this aside from Demon Slayer?

Pretty much almost every adaptation in the modern day. Mushoku Tensei is guilty of this too.

Have you tried not watching a shounen battle anime?

I feel like your example animation here is still fine, but I do agree that some series have started overdoing them.

Chainsawman did it but everyone bitched about the anime being "slow"

overanimation

You mean forced animation.

But DS is one of the few good ones

You're definitely right to some degree.
But what incentive to anime studios have to make their animation readable when they can just make it flashy and normalfags eat it up?

Ufotable figured out that they don't actually have to make good animation anymore, they can just trick normalfags into thinking the animation is good by slathering the screen in 20 different effects at all times.

no, that's just ufotable's adhd animation choice. the average anime still looks how it did 20 years ago.

Those are the only ones that get even half decent animation (in terms of television).

that simply isn't true at all

only watches anime with a specific style of animation

complains about the style of animation

it's another retard who refuses to watch anything that tiktok didn't advertise to him

look at all these cherry picked before and afters of shit-tier anime from the last 5 years!

I guess you're right, all anime by every studio right now looks exactly like that. Good point OP.

Modern Mappa loves doing this for visuals. Unnecessary bloom, weird angles, CGI a plenty. You can tell if it's made by mappa by lighting alone now a days

Pretty much almost every

man you sure stacked those qualifiers to make your claim look plausible

faggot of the day award

there's no such thing as a good battle shounen

Bump

everyone has adhd now, manufactured of course not genetic.

Anime nowadays specially shonenslop is full of 3dcg, aftereffects and bloom/filters to hide the previous

What was the last time it wasn't?

anime producers are all zoomers now

probably 2012 or 2014, call it 2016 for a safe bet

Why are you trying to watch an anime aimed at literal 8 year old babies? Stop watching shounenshit if you want something calm.

the easiest one to tell is Bleach anime
compare the old Bleach vs new Bleach anime, and you'll see japanese studios are not what it used to be

Early digital like Monster, Speed Grapher, Darker Than Black etc still looked nice.

why didn't based Kubo who oversees the project tell them to make a good anime

Chainsawman anime was bad for several reasons. And it is guilty of the same flaws that OP stated, but with worse cg.

This. When you are drawing stuff by hand, it takes time to draw everything, so it gives the animator enough time to see what looks good and what doesn't. When the animation is bad, it's usually due to time or budget restraints.
With 3dcg, "good enough" reigns, even with high budget and with over an year of production announcement, they still suck.

the studios nowadays are simply incapable of making good animation, no matter how much you shout at them

Dude the old Bleach had fucking awful animations, what are you talking about. The fight scenes were ass, super slow and stiff.

old bleach didn't have that many shiny things and overanimation

It dont matter. None of this matters.

Old Bleach had underanimation.

yes, it's different to modern animation
which is the point I'm making

Still not as obnoxious as when the characters are inside of a store or other interior and you can clearly tell it's just a filtered photograph.

I hate Trigger so fucking much it's unreal

This mentality going around that Impact Frames + Confusing animation + random explosions = Good fight scene is annoying. The fucking Sukuna/Mahoraga fight is everything wrong with modern shonen.

I genuinely wonder if we'll reach a point where things loop back around and everyone wants nothing but hand to hand combat in anime. No crazy powers, no getting sent through buildings, no incomprehensible lights and scribbles, just a basic animated fight with basic choreography. No rotoscoping or CGI either.

I think they underestimate the anime fan's eyesight, part of the fun in watching older animation is catching panty shots and weord frames.
Although with JJK they must think since it's for kids they won't notice.
