34 adapted only two chapters of Baby hold your Hand so probably.

My exact question, I don't want to stick around for leaks because this is the fight I most look forward to in this Cour but the preview looks like it will be at least two episodes long.

Best fight in the entire arc in my opinion.

This animation director worked on episode 31 which was a low priority episode with all the still frames. This better be a two-parter or this fight is ruined. But something tells me we're alright, we're middle through the cour, still 7 episodes to go. I can't see them giving sakuga to a filler Renji fight but not to the two penultimate fights of the entire arc.
This episode will likely be pretty mid, but will setup the follow-up sakuga episode nicely.

Yeah, I want to believe too. It's been a while since I read the Mayuri vs. Pernida fight but the first half of it mostly was them exchanging bantz, if I remember correctly so I don't mind if this episode is just a set-up for the next one.

They absolutely need to nail Nemu's sacrifice, thugh.

New scene showing Kyouraku's group reacting to Renji's reiatsu disappearing and Rukia cries out his name as she heads towards his location. Ichigo still gets downed by Askin but by a Gift Ball instead of that poison field, turns out he fell for the same trick Grimmjow did and tried to block it. Askin pulls out his bow to finish him off when he gets launched through a building by a headbutt from Nel. Nel tries to use her saliva on Ichigo but is stopped by Orihime who insists she'll heal him. While the two argue, Chad and Ganju spot Askin try to sneak away and they give chase again.

Mayuri vs Pernida fight is mostly the same besides showing a bit of flashback to SK being cut up to really hammer in how much Pernida hates the shinigami for what they did.

... And that's my headcanon for the episode folks.

Im guessing every 34 and 35 ends on captains fakefinishing Shutztaffel: Mayuri summons his baby and devours Pernida, Shunsui uses Theater of Suicide and beheads Lille. And then 36 and 37 is them actually killing quincies.
