I heard that originally, the guy who really looked and acted like Ken Takakura, Momo's ex bf, was supposed to be the MC, but the editor stepped in and made the author turn the MC into a Deku/Tanjiro cuck-style protagonist. Alternatively, I also heard that the author is a huge HeroAca fan, and he wanted a Deku minus the muscle as his protag.

I thought the animation was great, and even the AcroSilky backstory as a self contained story is good, but over all in DDD, we don’t really see the little girl ever again and it’s basically just used as a backstory to help the audience sympathize with Acro. Over it’s like an 8/10 for me. I thought the time freeze segment from The Girl Who Leapt Through Time was sadder.

I don't care about kids and pets in anime for some reason, Clannad didn't work for me either but I cried a bunch of times when I witnessed heroic dudes dying.

My experience with Clannad was weird, it didn't really made me cry UNTIL the scene with the dad, for some reason that scene broke me, I know people don't mention it much but that's the one that got me in Clannad.

That wasn't relatable to me either. If I think about shocking and sad series involving girls/women I would mention stuff like Girls Last Tour, Saikano or Nia fucking dying during her marriage. Now THAT was shit that hit me hard. This episode here was good but nothing that I care about enough to tear up or feel sad.
