Why and how did this series get so popular?
Why and how did this series get so popular?
forced popularity
covid + good budget did this
Infinity Train was a boring movie and the animation is overrated, far too much CGI for my liking too.
Average manga art with an extremely good anime adaptation. Basically, the opposite of Hero Academia.
I sacrificed 70 virgins to rocket it to the moon.
Lol no.
This is not Dandadan, OP fucked up.
Children, women, and shonen fags. Still won't ever be considered bigger than One Piece, Dragon Ball, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Naruto, or Attack on Titan.
Decent story with INSANELY good animation.
ufotable is just like that
or Attack on Titan.
Already mogged it just by people not shitting on it or its ending the moment it's mentioned.
It was a flash in the pan that gained impossible traction almost entirely because The Coof locked everybody inside and induced mass hysteria so everybody needed something to hype each other over
Hollywood also withdrew all their big boys that were set to be released in 2020 like Top Gun, No Time to Die, Fast & Furious and Dune meaning there was fuck all for competition besides Mortal Kombat and Onward, and those films sucked ass
Perfect storm of circumstances despite being just another generic shounen at the end of the day
Can't wait for Infinity Castle to cause immense seethe with its success.
Good luck getting through Hollywood. They won't ever allow a weeb movie to ever dominate the box office again, they're still pissed off over Covid.
2025
Jurassic World Rebirth, Zootopia 2, Captain America: Brave New World, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Superman, Snow White live action, Lilo and Stitch live action, The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, Avatar: Fire and Ash, Mission: Impossible Final Reckoning, Michael Jackson biopic
2026
Avengers: Doomsday, Toy Story 5, Shrek 5, Super Mario Bros sequel, The Batman Part II, Dune: Messiah, Fast X Part 2, Star Wars: New Jedi Order and The Mandalorian
2027
Avengers: Secret Wars, Frozen 3, Star Wars: New Jedi Order, Godzilla x King Kong
There's so much to choose from now that this series stands lesser and lesser out. And trust me, many will choose to watch either one of these films before they'll pick a weeb movie covering 1/3rd of a single arc in a single movie.
Honest manga with some good writting here and there despite the simple premise. Boosted by a well animated adaptation , but also by how the manga doesn’t fall for most of the usual shonen manga bullshits from The train arc up until the very ending (swordsmith village is the only 7/10 point, but it is redeemed by how the things it set up actually payed off in IF).
Infinity fortress is unironically one of the best written final arc in shonen history , giving a satsifying conclusion to every single character and the themes of the manga.
Basically the opposite of trash like MHA which just lived on the popularity of the early seasons, sunk cost fallacy and quitter losers self inserting into the most worthless protagonist ever written
It started off well and generally got better as it went on. Even SSV's quality dip can be explained away as a necessary dip in intensity in service of hoisting Infinity Fortress as one of the best arcs of all time
So after it got a 10/10 anime adaptation and people decided to try out the manga, nobody put it down until it was over. Now its adaptation is continuing at its absurd level of quality so it'll just keep kicking ass (and spawning seethe from certain people on this board) until it's over
I'm not a Buddhist but the empathy it touches on is universal. It's a story with a very warm heart despite its brutality at times. For my money, there are few series out there more deserving of their success than KnY
Infinity fortress is unironically one of the best written final arc in shonen history , giving a satsifying conclusion to every single character
Not with all those asspulls, Zenitsu's rushed "fight" that ended in two panels and the dogshit forced flashbacks like Inosuke getting one because the story needed stakes for the sake of stakes
Well damn I didn't have to wait for the movie to drop after all
I wonder how croc is doing these days.
Demon Slayer is a poorly written where the animation made the series famous and not the source material. There's a reason why the 1st volume of the series took 3 years, precisely after the anime aired, to surpass 300k copies. It's a poorly written series and there is no saving, either the simplistic plot, the conceptual mistakes, or the cringeworthy emotionalism and one-dimensional characters.
Forced cliches like the power of flashback. It seems that the writer took every bad trope about shounen and decided to double down upon them. It saves itself by the animation and the despair that is the fight against a superior enemy. However, even this descends into cartoonish ridiculous dumb antagonists that lose more by incredible incompetence and forced plots than anything else. The good guys are equally as retarded as the bad guys who makes a lot of bad decisions that results in them dying pointless unnecessary deaths for tragedy's sake.
The timeline itself requires suspension of disbelief. After all, why the hell aren't the government involved when they have a whole ass mountain full of demons to prove their existence? The MC himself is boring and no character besides the big bad seems to have brain cells enough to consider the immense benefits of demonization such as immortality. Besides, the fact that the big bad never used this to his benefit to take over the government seems absurd. Why didn't he expand to other countries anyway?
Had the story happened 500 years earlier it would make way more sense. Frankly, this whole series existed for the Entertainment District arc. The rest would benefit from a heavy rewrite. It's not a bad series, but I can't in good faith call it good either.
It's baby's first animanga, if I was 8 years old I'd probably think it was genius too.
Toy Story 5
there's more after the third?
It's simply good
Sadly, yeah. Toy Story is a franchise that's TOO good at printing massive piles of cash. 3 and 4 has made over 1 billion dollars at the box office and as long as Toy Story makes billions, Hollywood will milk the shit out of it until the end of time.
Am I the only one who hates the character proportions. A majority of them look like children but theyre actually 20+ something yr olds and then you have a couple of guys who just tower over everyone but theyre nearly the same age
A majority of them look like children but theyre actually 20+ something yr olds
The main cast is ~15.
It's a work of genius and sincerity
Movie news, when?
It's a work that apes Naruto, but is inherently inferior to the original product it soullessly tried to ape
Naruto is a 4/10 shounen. It's a shit shounen, but it's the undisputed king of shit shounen. KNY is green-black Naruto and is a 2/10
Hopefully Dec
Not just you. I find all the characters too jarring to look at. They all look like they came straight out of some 12-year-old child's DeviantArt page. I think the artist tried to give the characters a little bit of everything and hoped something would stick, but it just comes off rather unpleasant.
Also, I don't really like the artstyle. Round doll eyes, pastel colors everywhere with barely any shadows, round faces and just way too many colors in general. I couldn't get into this series just for the designs alone.
People were itching for a shounen that went back to it's roots with a good vs evil, simple straightforward story without obscene amounts of time wasting filler, no retarded subversion that betrays it's initial premise, a protag that ditches the talk no jutsu, and stellar animation. Also Nezuko cute.
How many times are you going to post this thread?
Subversion is a narrative tool that isn't necessarily good or bad, don't associate it with bad series who force it with no skill or thought. Also, if anything, this series would benefit greatly from fillers or downtimes. They can give characters much needed screentime and interactions to not make them feel one dimensional. There's not really any depth to any of them and the series is kind of under the assumption that you need to assume the characters are friends off-screen.
Episode 19
That's the one where Nezuko blows up Rui, right?
I personally have seen too many things try to be subversive only to turn to complete shit or shows with a ridiculous amount of filler that added absolutely nothing of value. KnY went too far in the opposite direction though. It desperately needed the filler. Then again when Ufotable added filler for season 4 people started bitching.
Yep
It's a very good episode. Also, I fucking love Go Shiina's music.
It's a simple, competent shonen that doesn't go on and on and on.
Good animation in fight scenes
That's all
Why and how did this series get so popular?
niggers. that's how
Lmao yes!
