Fullmetal Alchemist

Why is Brotherhood so much worse than the original series? Brotherhood is a bland shonen while the original was more like a seinen

It literally ends on Ed beating le God with le power of friendship deus ex machina. I watched this nine times and it's still a fucking trash ending

It's basically where the Fullreddit Malchemist meme started since Maltards and redditors shilled the fuck out of their generic poorly written slop

What's fucking hilarious is that not even MAL likes it that much anymore since it got cucked by Frieren lmao. 2003 was much better since it stopped following the manga during the Lab Five arc when it became bad

The original series deviates away from the author's final vision/manga and becomes a bit more disjointed and edgy, which appeals to the standard anon's tastes.

Why is he so bald

3 fucking years

14years and still mindbroken

Because one was made in the 90s and the other wasn’t.

funnyroo

The final fight in FMAB was such embarrassing garbage.

Agree, Brotherhood was a downgrade in art, animation, score, etc

Cool to see the manga animated but 2003 was better

That's soulful though.

I think that the early 2003 filler shit isn't too bad and actually helps the audience get attached to Ed and Al because they're still in over their heads as kids, especially with the Barry segment.
Post the noodle arm one

It's time to move on with your life and stop obsessing over a decades old shounen series.

Mustang was useless

What?
Did we watch the same series, because everything not involving him or Hohenheim was practically wasting time
Ed and Scar spend like four episodes in the finale ineffectively fighting mobs just so Mustang could catch up to them and instantly move their plot forward all by himself

didn't drink his milk

I'll clarify: in combat, he was useless. He had that one fight scene against Lust, then did fuckall in combat the rest of the show.
Plotwise he did a ton throughout the series, and frankly his political shenanigans were some of the most interesting plot threads.

Get in the robot, Kugimiya Rie.

animation

Agree with the other two but the animation is absolutely not better in 2003(unless you count the movie). Yes 2003 has some absolutely gorgeous moments but as a whole FMA:B is much more competently animated.

He also demolished Envy. The problem with Mustang is that he's too overpowered so he needs to constantly be written out of fights or made useless so he doesn't end the fight immediately and keep stealing the spotlight.

Ok, well, compared to who?
Considering how much of the series he was forced to sit out he was disproportionately effective in fights

No sales all the mobs Ed was struggling with

Kills Lust

Effortlessly kill Envy

Does just as well as anyone vs the failed fuhrers

Gets blinded but still fights against the homunculus daddy in both the first and second parts, can't judge effectiveness because the barrier shit but he certainly had the flashiest hits

Who even compares with regards to fight effectiveness, Greed/Ling? Scar?

The funny thing I noticed after rewatching 2003 recently is that it doesn't really have a final fight. The last two fights in the series are Mustang vs. Pride, which happens almost entirely offscreen; and Ed vs. Envy which has no alchemy and is literally less than two minutes long.

That's why it's kino retard

I didn't say it was bad. I said it was funny.

An anime giving up completely at having a satisfying conclusion is kino

Why are you so obsessed with FMAB?

beating god with the power of friendship is peak writing when you think about it, what's a more satisfying ending than that?

Why was finding a chimera capable of human speech such a big deal when Ed himself is a crocodile chimera?

I watched this nine times

Take your meds

Based, the 2003 ending of their first being apart, and then together but away from all their friends with a war looming over the horizon was much better.

Dante was also a far more interesting villain than Father and Hohenheim in the original was more interesting in having done horrible things in the past and trying to atone.

Also:

half your body replaced with automail

Is metal as fuck.

I feel like I got mindbroken by funnyposter into believing that croro Ed in the OP is actually funny. Makes me smile every time I see it.

Brotherhood was more like the source material, while the original was less like the source material

Dante was also a far more interesting villain than Father

Literally just another "muh immortality" human who only exists to be a plot point because Hohenheim never shared the Philosopher's Stone recipe. Her actual motives are contradicted by her own actions and she's got absolutely zero screen presence. Calling Hohenheim interesting in 03 is a fuckin troll though, dude didn't fucking exist in the story at all.

Reddit Lagann barely beat out literal moeshit
