Why is he so popular?

Why is he so popular?

He's the GOAT

Fujobait

He's a non-moralfag and the de facto MC.
Imagine any other shounen MC

NOOO I CANT KILL YOU EVEN THOUGH YOU TREAT ME LIKE TRASH AND KILL PEOPLE I HAVE TO SAVE YOU

Then he just comes in an curbstomps the bad guys while laughing and jabbing w*men

Nakamura voices him and he is power level faggootry

Which is funny because Nakamura hates Gojo

who would win?

What's an actual good example of a well written "overpowered character"?

Is Gojo Satoru the strongest because he is popular or is Gojo Satoru popular because he is the strongest?

Overpowered

Jobs

because he has the physical appearance that fujo worship, like being tall, etc

Pucci

alucard

loses to a 11 year old

gojo powerlevel: 9999999999999

other characters: 1

the girls love him

with an adult Stand

He would dogwalk Tardku

Shut up nigger

Gojo won.

...the getting cut in half contest

I love this big guy

the sex eyes

What were the last thoughts he had as he died?

White haired guy with blue eye and black leather suit

Fujo and gay

Power is literally INFINITY

Powerscalers

Personality is being a whacky random guy

Ironic weeb

Technically he lose to himself, his power make him inhale oxygen faster then Emporio and he can’t stop it in time

Ainz from Overlord and also Saitama. Any character that makes conflict an inner emotional one instead of an outside source.

Ainz

Emotional conflict

The system literally turns his emotions off any time he remotely starts to question his actions

I meant that generally the conflicts in the story isn't from an outside source that would result in a shonen-type battle where the protagonists have to level up to defeat them. They are already max level and has already made it clear that they are simply far too beyond for anything else to pose a threat, though the story has baited a few times otherwise. Much of Ainz's motivation/conflict comes from the management of Nazarick itself and its citizens hence the emotional conflict part.

He's the honored one

season 1 saitama.

Ainz is fucking boring

onii-sama

Every overpowered character listed here is boring. They are made interesting by the world around them and the side characters reacting to them.

Yujiro

He's tall and handsome with blue eyes and an appearance as twinkish as possible without looking weak.
He has a strong relationship with another handsome man.
He's the "strongest" in his story and has a broken hax ability that lets his fans argue he can beat anyone from any other series.
He's a good guy who fights for good, so he won't alienate people who don't like villains.
He's also willing to get his hands dirty and doesn't try to pull the "just as bad as the villains" shit, so he doesn't alienate people who don't like moralfags.
He has a fun and goofy personality to appeal to ironic weebs and be in trending memes.
He's confident and can back his confidence up.
He has a a backstory tragic enough to give him angst, but not so tragic that it makes him unable to be fun.
He wears an iconic outfit that makes him ridiculously cheap and easy to cosplay while still being recognizable.

Gojo was made by a boardroom. He was carefully calculated to be as popular as possible.

It’s probably my favorite way a jojo villain’s been beaten. It was so hyperspecific and it makes complete sense.

You forgot a lot of things, such as Gege drawing parallels between Gojo and The Buddha, and the S2 anime literally having a Gojo leitmotif repeated over several musical pieces

headcanon
his movements become faster than Star Platinum, but that doesn't mean he breathes faster

Why wouldn’t he breathe faster if everything else he does is faster?

if you breathe in too much normal oxygen you're gonna get hyperoxia
when MiH Pucci fought Jolyne and the gangs, this was never the case

Orsted. Basically, it all boilds down to "you can make a character the absolute strongest, but don't make him perfect" kind of deal

Helck

saitama

he doesn't even feel like having all those powers

dead franchise

Arale.

Beats me. Everything he did had overtones of immaturity, had anyone with more pragmatism had his gifts the story wouldnt happen. Six eyes can see all cursed energy down to a micro level, except Kenjaku, in his friends body, holding a unique cursed item. After being lured in by name to a trap. After being humbled to near death once. Strongest? Eh. Smartest? NO.

The last thing Gojo sees before Yujiro Hanma beats him
