She has her personality flaws, as every character does, but that makes her hateable? Sure, that was a bold move, but she had been dependent on Subaru as he was the only person who had knowledge about that "mysterious" person that looked exactly like herself and that he claimed was her sister. Even with no memories, Ram's duty as a sister was always present and way too strong, you can see that in her named chapter, the reunion in vollachia, and when she had memories you literally have Wrath Ram. It's clearly inherited from the very moment she was born to always prioritize her sister. And I do think people don't value enough how close Subaru and Ram actually are, despite her joking around Subaru and everything, she sees him as an actual brother, and that was reinforced when Subaru helped her fulfill her desire of burning the gospel (or so she thought). If you read Arc 3, after the whale attack she comforts Subaru with kindness, and in Arc 6 when she willingly helped Subaru vomit putting her own fingers into his throat after the miasma cavern. She did this out of affection to genuinely help him, and despite what she says, she deep down would only allow Subaru to take her sister's hand. But the despair of losing some of the closest ones to her 2 times is not comprehensible? Being the clear short tempered and emotionally aggressive character she always was when it comes to her loved ones? In fact, I do believe that Subaru is the 3rd closest to Ram's life in just a year that they knew each other.
