Heroes was an arcade game. It started simple enough in 2011, just replaying through every saga and other stuff from other games, like SS3 Broly.
Nothing major would start until God Mission in 2015, when they started doing Time Patrol plotlines and what-if stuff like SS4 Gohan or SS3 Raditz.
In late 2015 they carried on a plotline involving Demigra, Mira and Towa, and other demons. This came to a head with the introduction of the Dark Empire, whom they actually worked for.
In 2016 we’d see the Dark Demon Realm saga start in earnest with the rebranding into Super Dragon Ball Heroes, as the time patrol (given the tag xeno for xenoverse) fought to stop the Demon Realm’s true leader Mechikabura from returning to full power after millions of years sealed away beyond time. That was its first major original arc.
There's a lot of other stuff that happened afterwards, like Hearts and his group trying to create a universe seed to gain the power to overthrow Zeno. The next most important arc saw Mira and Towa's son try to do the same thing but only to make a new universe just to see what happens.
The penultimate arc is the Space-Time Tournament saga, which sees the first supreme kai of time, Aeos, return from wherever to hold a tournament. The losers have their entire timeline erased. This is done because she feels Chronoa's been shit at her job and allowed too many possibilities to run rampant.
The final arc re-introduces Majin Ozotto from an even older arcade game.
