Huan Wangyu and Hua Wuji, who were captured by the punishment technique, are seriously injured one after another by Fur Leiyi's overwhelming strength, but...

So she's not going to job, but...?

tries to goad his son into letting loose a demon god to destroy the human realm

his son refused to do so and now he'll do it himself

What is his plan?

Maybe Spider strikes a deal to trade the insignias or Fuji-chan makes them forfeit (doubt it if shes allegedly domintating). Someone intervenes. Or they simply beat her by finally unleashing some Shinkai Makai Magic.

Thinking about the idea of Lotus providing backup, which I don't see any reason for, made me notice how we haven't seen either of them contact him so far in spite of it being a supposed scouting mission, I first thought they just couldn't cause of setup, but Kguy just talked to him so clearly not.

Hopefully this means executioner demon won't job to Rou like Kyarei if Fujirai can 1v2 two of the bugs with Shinkai Makai. Speaking of which, is Shou Kun Rin supposed to be the best demon sorcerer or one of the best? She fared well enough against two Shinkai Makai herself although I guess that's because Shou and Gunha didn't want to outright kill her with them. The translation for her bio from the S3 website:

200年ほど前、西幽で皇室に取り入り悪事の限りを尽くした妖魔。(※七殺天凌に宿る魔性は、照君臨の怨霊。)魔界きっての術士。

One translation tells me it means she's the best, another says she's one of the best.

shes not gonna job right

With the episode synopsis out for episode 8 + 4 more episodes still left in the season, I don't think she'll job. The demon court's nobles have been cut down from 8 to 5 already, and the Demon King himself isn't doing much so in practice it's more like 4 actual relevant demon nobles now, so I think they'll need the rest of the demon cast to move the plot forward since the human cast haven't been doing much this season so far aside from Spider and Wasp.

For the season as a whole, it will be pretty underwhelming if she dies. In terms of plot I like S4 more so far than early S3 and it builds off such well but in terms of fights Kyarei is still the only one (?). But Shou just dropped right in time to finish buisness with the bros and I think Rou will be forced to murder everyone in his nightmare to escape, otherwise he'll die, so presumably we'll see that too.

I wonder if the demon count jobbings a side effect of runtime compression due to s5 cancellation or a result of Gen's mistake in putting Alabaster too low on the totem pole and having to fill out the extra space between him and the top with jobbers.

Where are her horns?

Starting to think that the story is going to be rushed at the end. There's too many plots and only a few episodes and a 90 minutes movie left. We needed one more season and then a movie

Probably both, S5 would have definitely given Urobuchi more time to flesh out the demon nobles more before killing them off and I think an event goer to the recent Akihabara TBF film festival claimed that Urobuchi mentioned he did regret making Azibelpher number eight in the demon court so he had to fill out the other seven positions. Uraina and Hilars probably could have been condensed into one character, Kyarei could have had a Ryou Mi situation where she gets defeated on her first appearance but retreats for later scenes, and the whole Wasp and Spider working for different demon nobles could have played out with Kyarei and Uraina/Hilars. Have Uraina/Hilars die by being ambushed by Spider but Kyarei manages to put up a fight against Wasp, but ultimately end up going down to Wasp to establish the Divine Swarm duo as capable threats.

I think it could probably wrap up in a 90 minute movie, I assume most of the demon plot will wrap up with an actual invasion of the human world like Azibelpher is suggesting in episode 8 and Locust having some hand in that, with the movie dealing with Locust and the demon invasion. I would be more confident in the movie if it was at least 120 minutes though, then at least it would be basically half a season in runtime.

Demon who only wants to be cute is actually a human all along; the ultimate cosplayer. Kichou being a demon is in reality a red herring to keep the viewer from noticing this. She's actually a noble from touri who the emperor sent in to be a spy cause after seeing noticing her attire at banquets cause he thought it would be cool. Real fuji is dead.

Inb4 A FUCKING PARASOL vs A FUCKING STICK

a war of poverty

He's a demon janny

She is gonna slap wasp and spider around until they start working togather. after that she will slap them around harder

Would redeem all the demon jobbing this season

She was too cute to die so quickly

why are demons so much cuter than humans

Cuddles with ansatt while he tries to make me sleep!!!

You're going to have to drink this elixir first

I thought for a while he was kind of a dead end of a character, but I'm genuinely impressed with Urobuchi's characterization of him. The grandfather paradox is well established, but I don't think I've ever seen it applied to a character affecting their own life, and actually succeeding on top of that. I do wonder what Kguy will do with this information, as she does seem quite thoughtful (except for her vulnerability to being ducked).

Yeah the cancellation of season 5 had a huge effect on this show. These demons are some of the biggest jobbers I've seen.

I'm still hyped to see what Duck will do with old man, singer, and princess trio

We could have had GUNHAーDONO's backstory as movie 3

Aren't there supposed to be eight of these guys?

i just want more mantis...

Duck's interactions with normal people (princess, Tenmei) really show what an asshole he is. When he's with Shou he's been much more affable

Number 1 is the Demon King, you can kinda see Urobuchi regretting making Azibelpher #8 that he had to fill up the slots to the point he just included the Demon King amongst the 8.

Saves them from getting humiliated by literal who demons

Asshole

Huh?

When he has no need to leave a good impression (for his goals) he won't bother.

Duck has always been an asshole, he is a bit more amiable with Shou since Shou is a source of amusement for him plus pragmatically he doesn't want Shou as an enemy. Duck is capable of keeping allies on hand that he thinks are useful such as Archer and his teacher, and Shou is one such person aside from the fact he's a villain magnet. Duck got Tan Hi captured by the sect that killed her brother in S1 and he put Ken in the dangerous situation Ken found himself in S3 to begin with, plus he suggested leaving Rou behind when Rou was injured and slowing the group down. Urobuchi has outright stated that Duck has always been a villain who doesn't have much empathy for his allies, his interactions with Tenmei and the others just reinforce this.

Duck has always been an asshole, he is a bit more amiable with Shou since Shou is a source of amusement for him plus pragmatically he doesn't want Shou as an enemy

more like he's nicer to shou because Shou is strong

And by being strong he attracts villains with whom Duck can amuse himself.

nta but yeah I was thinking with how hard everyone's jobbing and the loss of a fifth season "did we really need 8 of these fuckers, surely this coulda been truncated to four or so" but I guess if that was already set up by azerbaijan being #8 he was kinda stuck in a corner

Don't suck Duck's cock too much. He's nicer to people who are strong because he doesn't want to offend them. It's just that simple

They could have been killed offscreen to set up a brief whodunnit plot.

I think they didn't want to waste the puppets, Uraina and Hailsu got unique designs + puppets. If they got offscreen, that would mean even less screen time for the puppets than the meager amount they already got.

Or just say there were at least 8 before the war but half of them were wiped out and they manage with four because it's an outdated institution in the current demon world.

I think a fully serious Shouf-kun could beat duck in an even match but Duck has no interest in such a scenario. It's simply counterproductive for him to make an enemy of him, and it would be an absolute waste if he died.

Funny that Shou will finally make it down there but now Rou might be stuck in a cocoon for an unspecified amount of time.

I wonder if we'll ever know what he was like in the original timeline.

Is he a character who's words we can take at face value? does he actually like his son?

He likes his son only because his son brings him amusement and is an uncertainty in his otherwise carefree life

If Urobuchi starts crunching things now then he has had some forethougth so it'll probably be mostly fine.

Why did the change it into a movie again?

we will never live in the S1 -> M1 -> S2 -> M2 -> S3 -> M3 -> S4 -> M4 -> S5 -> M5 timeline

Why didn't the Azerbaijani time travel magic correct this?

Supposedly because of covid, but likely TBF not making as much outside of Taiwan is also a reason. Outside of Anon Babble, have you even encountered anyone that knows of TBF?

Makes sense
