In which board can I discuss the manhwa without these disgusting chuds interferring?
Forgot pic
Idk, maybe in Anon Babble ?
Wow, bumping has been disabled
Good job, mods, you forgot to suck me off though
None, you have to pitch a new board for jannies. Been saying this for 10 years now. Split Anon Babble and make /ca/ as "cartoons & animation" and turn Anon Babble into an all comic board since there are all forms of other comics outside Americans and Japanese ones that are pretty popular as well. You have stuff like French comics, Chinese, Korean, Taiwanese, Russian, and probably some other hidden gems no one knows about yet.
/ca/ would just be an all forms of animation board. Hand drawn, digital, CGI, puppetry, claymation, stopmotion, etc. Fucking jannies on Anon Babble don't even like cartoons.
You're right! I'll check out Anon Babble then, thank you
Most anons tried btw and Anon Babble jannies sent it back to Anon Babble
Lol that's so weird haha
Yeah dude, they shot my thread down almost immediately, saying that only Western stuff is allowed.
Okay but there was like an anime adaptation of tog... Does no one here on Anon Babble care about it ?
It was better-animated in Season 1, better-written and -paced in Season 2, but the adaptations really fucked with the emotional heart of the story and spend too much time trying to make Baam a generic shounen protagonist. It also lacks that uniquely Korean nihilism about society.
There isn't much to talk about. Season 1 adapted material that was 10 years old when it was new, and then it was a 4 year wait for stuff that was now 12 years old. A lot of the mysteries in the arcs adapted have already been solved, a lot of the characters have already been forgotten by SIU, and the mediocre animation of S2 really hurts discussion.
Yeah I agree. Plus it will take like forever to adapt the ENTIRE manhwa.
It's strange considering that Japanese society is probably worse than the Korean one?
spend too much time trying to make Baam a generic shounen protagonis
So what kind of protagonist is Bam then, exactly?
a lot of the characters have already been forgotten by SIU
I don't think he forgot them, they're just not needed in the story right now. Plus if he tried to focus on all characters at once we'd get another MHA treatment, so I like it that way. There's more than enough tog characters anyway
mediocre animation of S2
So much this. I was really disappointed after seeing how good S1 looked. The second part of S2 looks even worse lol
My favorite character is Lo Po Bia Bam
smol, desirable male
Cute Khun autismo
There's been an anime now, retard
picrel
Projection
boi
now out you go larping retard
Shut the fuck up, gramps. You lost the KW.
Khuns are best boys
Holy sexo...
i read up to helltrain and after part 1 its pretty meh. s01 of the anime was amazing, for me at least i loved it and thats what made me read the manhwa. the prologue felt genuinely fresh and fantastical, it reminded me of hunter x hunter's hunter exam. after that its just fantasy south korea with their status obsession and lookism
Eat shit, cuntoid.
Very much indeed
larping
Who am I supposed to be larping as...?
What's a KW? Korean War?
Based
Is it wrong if I keep thinking of Killua from HxH when I look at Ran? lol
you know very well retarded newfag now go back to the shithole you crawled out from
Lol retard
Korean War?
Yes, that's where his term originated. And he list that one, just like every conflict in the past 80 years.
Go to bed, grandpa.
You're right
for me at least i loved it and thats what made me read the manhwa.
Dude, same !
status obsession and lookism
I mean, at least they're honest about it because isn't that hardwired into humans?
Lol that's just Killua
Yea, that outfit is Ran's tho
Oh yeahh, based haha
It's time to go to sleep, grandpa
It's strange considering that Japanese society is probably worse than the Korean one?
Top kek
Either a Korean or an absolute newfag who knows nothing. Megalia says hello
season 1 is excellent. Season 2 is good until the slayer-extra chapter or until the team boards the train.
The rest is insufferable, SIU fucked his wrist and somehow it affected his brain too.
Idk I've been to both countries and Japanese seem a bit more miserable to me
What why did it turn bad for you?
I've started reading it recently non-stop again from chapter 0 to the almost current chapter 640 (I didn't pay for the most recent 4 chapters until chapter 634)
and it all seems very consistent and thought-out, in fact the art gets even better, it gets INCREDIBLY good, my phone is full of screenshots now lol
The only complaint I have is that it's taking too long to finish, SIU is already working 15 years on it.
When I say forgotten I mean there are places where you could easily slot in characters from S1 and S2 and they just don't get put in there. Or they're like Yeon and Elaine, they got fridged for half a decade now since their last appearance.
The fact that a movie like Parasite is heralded as the essence of Korean culture tells you all you need to know about Korea. It's basically neo/cyber-feudalism with a hefty dose of misandry.
So what kind of protagonist is Bam then, exactly?
To start with, Baam isn't special because he can unleash lots of shinsu, despite what S1 implied. It's that he can unleash lots of shinsu without the restrictions or rules that normally bind Regulars climbing the Tower. But that's just on the surface.
Baam's only special ability is that he can learn and understand techniques after experiencing or being struck by them, and take them into himself. So when people show off their techniques in front of him, he instinctually understands the flow of shinsu and can use the technique himself, which is why it's so amazing to Quant that he was able to learn shinsu freezing after experiencing it once. It's also why, in a scene that S2 has completely skipped so far, Ha Jinsung decides Baam is worth turning into a Slayer despite his personality.
Baam's personality is, up through most of S2, that of a doormat who does what he's told. His self-actualization and his desire to become a player in the great game of the Tower, is an important part of his story development, which is why he's unlike most shounen protagonists who already have their goal and drive towards it through the story. Unlike at the end of anime S1, in the webcomic he's still being led around by Hwa Ryun and her FUG faction for most of S2. Taking action to reunite with Khun and Rak isn't even something he considers until Hwa Ryun saves his ass during S2, and then he builds up to becoming his own person willing to pursue his own goals rather than FUG's or Rachel's. The story of S2 is why, in S3, Baam is finally willing to take responsibility for his powers and sacrifice others for his own goals and those precious to him. He matures through sacrifice, even though he might not like doing it, and that too distinguishes him from most shounen protagonists.
