Previous thread: Despite the OP image, I am using the VizBig 3-in-1 localization which does not feature this cover exactly. Be aware that some of the larger images have been edited to be lower quality due to image size limits.
Here's the inner illustration for Volume 17 in the 3-in-1. Spooky.
Original title is 闘鬼神. The title is left untranslated as it is a proper noun. According to Furinkan, the kanji read ""fierce fighting god"." Machine translation also suggested "demon fighting god" or "god fighting demon".
March 8th, 2000. Author's note:

Gotta wonder a bit about the mechanics of all this. Anyway, I've posted both these notes before but Inuyasha is a long series and Furinkan posted them again so here:
"When asked what sort of demon Jaken is supposed to be Rumiko Takahashi responded, "The visual image of Jaken was a "hell demon" (jigoku no gaki/地獄の餓). I also had him wear a kariginu (狩衣, the style of robes and hat Jaken wears) to give him a feeling of middle management."
A "gaki" (餓鬼) is a typically translated as a "hungry ghost", a creature that lives off of the earwax, dead skin and hair of humans. People who lived awful lives are reincarnated as gaki as punishment. The creatures that Sesshomaru drives away using the Tenseiga are also likely inspired by gaki as are the binding creatures seen early in the series."

I guess the kanji Furinkan translated as 'fierce' and the one that Google translated as 'demon' was 鬼 or 'oni. Hence, ogre here. And yup, the chapter is named after the newly christened sword.
We can leave that bit a mystery.

You know that one poster who is mean to the boomerang bone? I don't think I ever realized how much it jobs until they pointed it out. I guess Miroku's wind tunnel not working is much easier to notice.
But that's battle shonen for you. You can't have the bread and butter stuff always win. And you usually have to wait for the main guy to finish the job.

Furinkan has a note since VIZ had to do some localization:
"When Miroku smashes Kaijinbo's skull he says "judgement" (as in the divine/religious sort). In Japanese this is "seibai" (成敗)."
I think Judgement would've worked, but that might be the weeaboo in me.
I wonder if Rumiko realizes how many fights Miroku handles without the wind tunnel. Admittedly, it makes sense that Kagome would only pay attention to the flashier moves since it is so chaotic in battle. And this wasn't just beating chumps to death with a staff.
End of chapter! Here's another note by Furinkan. It is pretty self-explanatory:

Original title is 蘇る鉄砕牙. It seems it means more 'Revived Tessaiga' or 'Resurrected Tessaiga'.

I've seen her talk about Obake no Q-Taro before in an autobiographical manga. Osomatsu-kun is of course, incredibly beloved.
Original title is 闘鬼神の使い手 which appears to mean Tokijin's User. This makes sense in context though.
Furinkan mentions on the anime page that "Totosai mentions that Kaijnbo once created a sword by murdering ten children. The skills that he wears around his neck are obviously the skulls of children. In many legends, oni are said to eat children." Sure. I mean, makes sense.

Original title is 四匹め which is basically this, but much like the other title 'The Third Demon', it is using that animal-ordering word as far as I can tell.
Usually covers like this was for anniversaries or something, but that doesn't seem to be the case here.

Original title was 獣郎丸. As a proper noun, it was not translated. The kanji in this mean 'beast boy' according to Furinkan. I got beast from my machine translators, but they struggled with the later two kanji, suggesting 'perfection' and 'vassals'. It could be a suffix used in names, perhaps?
Also, Furinkan mentions that:
"This issue of Shonen Sunday has the first announcement of the Inuyasha series receiving an anime adaptation later in the fall. Takahashi's quote in the article states: "I'm excited that the series will be made into an anime. I'm looking forward to the brightness and speed of the action that is unique to anime. Also, not to be outdone by the anime, I'll do my best to make the manga version of Inuyasha interesting.""

Original title was 影郎丸. Another proper name so it is untranslated. It is the same name as Juromaru but with 影 or 'shadow'. Also, I looked at Furinkan's page and they did mentioned 'maru' as a suffix. Here's the full note: "The "ro" part is "sons" while "maru" is a common male name suffix."
