I don't think I've ever been able to relate to the anime high school experience. Uniforms, club rooms, the designs of the school, student council stuff. It's all pretty foreign and is a set piece I know pretty much just exclusively through anime even back when I was in high school myself. Tatami Galaxy reminds me a lot of my college life though.

If a college student did any of things that highschoolers get away with in anime like accidently molesting the transfer student, yelling at the student council president or making a heartfelt confession behind the school then it would be a major "happening" and they'd spend the rest of their time in university as a pariah.
