Steins;Gate

1. Yes 2. No I only finally got around to it a few years ago after 0 ended.

Boomer anime with a literal tranny

It's still the best anime ever made

..for emotional man babies who will never fully mature into men.

Better than Mid Metal Alchemist at least

I like Steins;Gate the same way I did in 2011. I wish there were other anime like that.

So what anime do you like?

The best thing about it is the character designs, otherwise it was underwhelming.

Yes, and it has some of the best girls of all time too.

You haven't even watched it.

I watched it a couple years ago and it hasn't aged well. I think the story was made for a certain type of weeb from around that time period and without that direct appeal a lot of things about the story fall kind of flat.

S;G is for teenagers desu. Once you start wageslaving you realize how infantile it is.

It's been 13 years

Fuck

Why does FMA live so rent free in anon's head?

the VN is miles better

It's absolutely for the 2010 teenager demographic.

Or maybe you're just become a more infantile person over the years?

I'm not the one unable to move on from an otaku product of its time.
It's time to grow up anon.

The VN is the best in the medium but the anime is great too.

pic unrelated

Mayuri is a peak moe anime girl.
Kurisu is peak tsundere
Suzuha is peak tomboy
Just spitting facts here

If you watched this anime when it was airing you are too old to still be here.

Being this underage

If you watched this anime when it was airing you are too old to still be here.

This is very true but you have no place to go from here. This is the pit.

Steins;Gate is garbage.

haha yeah imagine how much of a fuck up you'd have to be lol

I hate you for saying this

Maybe but that's definitely the wrong girl.

My cousin bought me the bluray almost 10 years ago and to this day I have not watched it. I did enjoy the VN though

Do you still view the show as one of the best anime of the 2010s?

It never was? Even back then I never thought it was anywhere close to the best.

reddit;gate

you need to go back

You're extremely obsessed and mentally ill. Also.

Muh Reddit

Absolutely meaningless criticism, almost ALL anime that exists is extremely reddit. Occasionally redditors like good things.

g-go back!

Don't have to, I'm only here and have been since I was a child(30 now).

TL;DR: Fucking kill yourself try hard poser.

I remember it as the show with the dr. pepper product placement

well consider this: Steins;Gate is shit and you have awful taste.

That's better, you look like less of a tourist retard now

even they admit it's Reddit

Hilarious. Also, you're 30 and this mad? Throw away that Kurisu plushie and have sex loser.

I didn't watch it until a few months after it aired. For some reason I just totally ignored it until looking at a thread and being captivated by the art style and designs. I regret not being in on threads during airing, but I am glad I did get to marathon the entire series with just a break to nap and eat the first time I saw it. I was so zonked out and lost in the charisma of the story that I had forgotten the implication of undoing the first dmail until the same moment Okabe realizes it; wonderful experience I would have missed if I'd been watching weekly and analyzing closely over time.

You can tell it's special just by looking at it. And it is one of the best although I'd use a time machine to put it in the 2000s grouping. It's so thoroughly saturated with the subculture of that time, and I don't mean the references. The way it theorizes otaku identity and builds that into the themes of the story is really a capstone to something that I think has disappeared during the 2010s. Multiple versions of Akiba, a variety of otaku interests represented from the literal tech lovers to costume creators, and the way that chuunibyou serves as a dramatic irony in how Okabe's setting foreshadows the reality he faces as brought to catharsis in the scene where he bitterly denounces his facade. Sublime otaku art. Maybe even the last great otaku work.
