Sure, Saitama eventually shows up as some kinda deus ex machina, but it's usually after months or years or generic shounen fights that are really fucking boring. I preferred it when the buildup was just a few chapters, and where Saitama comes in to subvert the stupid shounen shit. Now the plot is no longer played as a joke, but Saitama is instead a plot device that occasionally shows up to push the shonen events along, which are meant to be taken at face value. Even his fight with Garou was mostly serious, and lacked any kind of subversion of the tropes.
