There’s actually a very interesting angle Fujimoto could take Asa’s character after making her chill out on her Denji crush, make her realize that she’s sacrificed almost everything for a guy she hardly knows, make her realize that Fami has turned her crush into a weapon to hurt innocent people, all the deaths she’s technically responsible for, yadda yadda. That just depends on whether Fujimoto wants to write a GOOD story or a BAD one.

I like to think that he’s doing all of this intentionally and the other shoe will drop soon, that we won’t see Asa be rewarded for her incredibly self destructive and harmful behavior, but that just depends on Fujimoto. One thing I think for sure tho is that an Asaden ending would cement Asa’s character as wasted, turning her from a very complex character and then uncritically simplifying her for the sake of a romantic pairing.
