The movie is decently cute. The main girl is a complete psycho and I like her.
The show might be fun but the actual mecha fighting in the movie wasn't really piquing my interest. Which could be fine for a series if it builds to more interesting things, but in the context of a standalone movie release was kind of a let down.

Hopefully the first episode isn't the prologue of the preview that played in cinemas, because it so very not interesting on its own, you'd have to be a Gundam fan for it to be understandable and even then it's dull. Very weird decision by Anno (or was it Enokido?) to start the series with that.

I'll watch it but I won't like it. Gwitch was fucking awful and sadly it was successful. It's not like they can't make new good gundam series, 00 S1 was great.
I also worry this. I saw people saying the movie was basically the first 3 episodes, and if that's true, it's going to kill a lot of interest based on the first episode. It would be better if they released it at the very least as a sort of episode 0/prequel along with the first real episode.

The first episode is the stuff with Xavier chasing the red Gundam and Machu stealing the Quacks to fight the cops. It has a 2 minute summary of the OYW, but not the whole stuff with Char. That one isn't an actual episode of the TV show and is more like the episode 0 they did for G-Witch.
Is Anno directly involved or is it just his studio?
Also, I'm 100% watching it because it's an alt universe UC. So far the new girl characters are whatever.
He wrote the prologue special and also serves as supervisor, helping Tsurumaki with stuff.
I'm ten episodes in 0079 and it's boring so far. When does it get good?
