Yes but the masks didn't pierce deep enough before Kars got his hands on the stone, which is why he finally unlocked his full potential in the climax of part 2. Regardless, a human will still only turn into a vampire, what Dio got from it was all he was ever going to get.

It is interesting how they introduced the concept of conquering the sun in Part 2 but when DIO reappeared he had absolutely zero interest in doing that. It's cool to see a vampire that's content with all the drawbacks.

The best first arc is Phantom Blood, everything with 12 year old Jonathan and Dio. Dio, full of charisma, just comes out the gate swinging with how aggressively he tries to ruin Jonathan's life for seemingly no reason. Maximum entertainment value 4 minimum chapter.

It's not as heavy as Johnny vs Valentine, but it's been a pain having to gather them. At least with SBR, the emojis were only a handful and slowly built up over time in terms of usage. Part 8 starts easy with about 12 in the first volume, then drowns your ass in them by the second. I slightly regret taking on torch, but I will let my kakugo guide me. This is based entirely on the fact Joshu doesn't want to go to Hawaii and him and Josuke being brothers (which would follow the theme with Jodio & Dragona and Charmingman & his brother).
