Would the show have been better if they weren't in every single episode?
Would the show have been better if they weren't in every single episode?
I think it was to teach kiddos that evil people will actually follow them and try to fuck them up once their guard is down. I still have no clue how some Pikachu was gonna impress Giovanni.
the show would be better if the current season was about their kids. They honestly carried pokemon on their backs thankless for decades
They are somehow super popular to Japs and complained when they did exactly that in Best Wishes where they had a super edgy super competent phase where they barely appeared because they did super secret missions and were successful at it. Needless to say they reverted back in the next season, the filler season bedore XY and Gen 6 of Pokemon was released.
Fun fact there are more episodes with Team Rocket than with Ash
I guess so. And yeah, made no sense. He would only care for a legendary.
when is princess mega evolved cellery gonna get another chapter with her partner james?
Team Rocket is literally the soul of Pokémon
They’re my favorite characters
As it should be
Another fun fact there is exactly one episode with neither Ash nor Team Rocket, it's the first episode of DP
Obviously. They existed in 500+ episodes just to pad out the runtime and generate tension without the writers having to come up with new reasons. See the current Pokémon anime where there's no character equivalent to them, the villains only show up when they have a role to play and have kept their threat level without becoming jokes, and every time some conflict happens, the writers have to come up with a different justification.
Worse, they are to iconic.
I still have no clue how some Pikachu was gonna impress Giovanni.
didnt they managed to show him the pikachu once? AFAIK he was predictably unimpressed
also, at this point arent they fired? idk why they keep chasing that pikachu
I refuse to believe anyone who mentions they love them ever tried to watch the whole show or even just one full series. They get incredibly tiring very quickly, they're one-trick ponies 99% of the time with reused footage and script galore. They have maybe four good episodes each series which tend to be when they catch/evolve their Pokémon for that region and when one of the trio inevitably baits to quit.
At some point I think they only chased Ash for the sake of it, they even cheered him a few times in tournaments
Nah, I've seen many completed seasons and they always made me laugh, specially when they started to modify or improv their appearance speech
In the few episodes team rocket wasn't present were the most unfun eps. They made the anime great with their presence.
In the final few episodes of the series they ask Team Rocket HQ to send them all the Pokémon they ever caught for one big ambush on Pikachu, it still fails, they get demoralized, break up, go take on separate jobs at HQ, become depressed, meet again by chance, form the trio again and decide to keep chasing Pikachu even without orders.
I watched the whole thing and the TR appearance is the best part of about 90% episodes. You act like the rest of the episode is some deep shit when it's just Ash goofing around.
I'm still mad that they didn't just adapt Dengeki Pikachu's ending for them
the whole anime is that bad you are hyperfixating on the trio for no real reason. Theyre a bright spot in something painfully bad most of the time. if you want to like the trio you gotta read celery's rocket adventure
It was Japanese kids who were scares of their competent selves.
Writers finally got the guts to do something interesting with them and the audience whines, sad!
See the current Pokémon anime
You mean the current boring anime with an uninteresting premise with most episodes feels anti climatic. Current Pokémon anime only proves why Ash and TRio were important.
that special episode that shows how they ended up meeting
Kino, they deserve a spinoff series
James and Brock are the only reason to watch Pokemon.
They should have switched cast every generation.
Have new novice trainer starting fresh and dealing with their local villainous team.
Maybe keep senile Pikachu as a background mascot but everyone else should have been regularly replaced.
I was into Pokemon from day 1 and sticked around until 3D games but anime became unwatchable to me halfway through gen 2.
read celestias rocket adventure
It would have been better if Jessie kidnapped Misty and sexually dominated her using Arbok
they're one-trick ponies 99% of the time with reused footage and script galore
That's the best part tho
no
They were still far better and more entertaining than the Explorers.
He is just one of those westerns who thinks every story has to be dark , edgy and serious. The same type who insists Live action Mulan outshine the original.
Team Rocket = Willy E. Coyote
Pikachu = Road Runner
And that's perfect
You guys are expecting too much from a children's anime
Just have fun
I do remember at some point during the Johto season there was a long span where they would just show up out of nowhere in the last 5 minutes of the episode. Like completely tacked on regardless of the context of the episide. Show up with a big robot, try to capture Pikachu, immediately get beaten and blast off. Even as a kid I noticed and got tired of it.
Imagine if every digimon ep wasted the last 7 minutes battling the doronjo gang
Imagine if every yugioh ep wasted the last 7 minutes battling the doronjo gang
Imagine if every beyblade ep wasted the last 7 minutes battling the doronjo gang
what do you think We would never have any good moments if they were beating the same fodder shit over and over again. anipoke really shooted itself in the foot with this format.
They were the only good part of the show, so no.
the problem is one fun gag and not that I'm watching 500+ to 1000+ episodes of a long-running kodomo and by that point the entire thing will get tiring
Is there a good Pokemon watch guide for the first season (Gens 1 and 2) that skips all the filler so that I don't have to watch 100+ episodes?
If you skip even one episode you can't say you watched the show.
You can see most people in this thread are drooling retards who actually enjoy that format though, or at least claim to do because they were kids at the time and only watched 50 or so episodes before dropping off since they wouldn't hold that opinion otherwise.
yes
specially if it wasn't distributed by 4kids in the west
You could skip as many episodes as you want at random and you still watched the show
Why would I care about that? I watch anime for enjoyment, and not whatever reason you watch it for.
If you skipped all the filler you would be left with 15 episodes only.
Surely if you include every gym battle, league battle, introduction/departure of a Pokemon to/from their group, there would be at least 50 episodes, r-right?
