It's not just Mob, the story is very hamfisted in how it nails down people who try to step outside of the confines of normal social slavery
Reigen lives outside of that and he's the hero of the story. That is because he does whatever is within his ability to help others instead of trying to exploit others. Even Dimple and other evil spirits get to live a happy life when they stop being dicks.
There isn't a single time in the entire series in which a person trying to do the right thing with his special abilities (be it psychic powers, lifting, or running fast) is told to stand down and go work at McDonald's. Rather it is whenever someone tries to use his special abilities to fuck over others that the story hammers them over the head with "shut the fuck up you're not the center of the world."
The whole point of the story is that it's OK to be special, it's OK to be yourself, but it's not OK to harm others becuase you're not the protagonist of a shounen manga. This goes over the heads of shounentards who never got over their chuuni phase and still dream with awakening special Chosen One powers to get revenge on Chad Chadington for "taking away" Stacy or something.
