Honestly my only problem so far is it's a bit too Kimetsu clone-y. Older brother doing chores in the snow and everyone loves him, little sister character, muh fire breath powers. But that's just superficial, if the premise is used well and the writing is good this is as good a way to start as any. Also I like that the mc does want to go to war but is also realistic about what he'll be allowed to do.

The pacing is normal, it's as you would expect from a first chapter. I hope he learned his lesson though and won't be doing some shitty exam arc that flops and kills the whole manga
