The start of the story just sort of continues what we have so far. MC and Shizuku power up a bit and they recruit the nearby abandoned area folks like the fake Shingen old man. They update the core store to sell vegetable seeds and through Karen the cat girl they start selling vegetables to the inner city and then using that money to buy other food stuffs. With the increased number of people they fix up the area around MC’s tower and turn it into basically a market place where people can sell cores in exchange for money and buy goods.

Meanwhile Karen gets a hold of an item given to her by MC because it’s a super dangerous item and MC wants to get rid of it. She takes it to her researcher friend who appraises it and decides to sell it to one of the big shots in exchange for her own research lab. This girl gets connected with MC and starts supplying them with some equipment and stuff. Also basically proposes to him on first meeting. Kind of big spoiler She’s the same kind of being as Shizuku, fairy from another world.

MC gets involved in the inner city due to this connection and some other events like Shizuku getting spotted killing a water dragon by some students from the inner city. MC creates camouflage that his corporation is connected to some of the inner city big shots which leaves even the big shots second guessing who he is actually affiliated with because none of them can believe he’s completely independent. They take part in a dungeon capture event that is conducted regularly. A weird humanoid ice monster shows up and basically massacres all the other participants. Shizuku kills it and MC gets its core. MC revives it as an Extra Lives 2, it’s another fairy from another world. It’s completely autonomous unlike Shizuku who is tied to MC. Also reveals that rare dungeon monsters are former human beings.

The Academy has erected barriers to contain all their magic and makes them wear Rings that nullifies life-threatening injuries of course(they still feel pain, because fuck them kids).

The art is beautiful and I like the concept and I think the human healers are even a very interesting antagonist/rival group, but it's just dipped too far into shoelacing territory for me to get really enthusiastic about it.
