It was garbage.
I didn't just watch it, I watched it for 8 weeks.
tfw marathonlet who didn't watch it on airing
i actually enjoyed finding the subtleties from one episode to the next. sure, it wasn't exhilarating but it was an interesting work of art
based
I watched it intently thinking something new might actually happen. Fuck this show and most of all fuck Haruhi. Total bitch.
sex and marriage with this cunt
It was fucking kino
Everyone that dislikes it is filtered trash
If you skip it on a rewatch you did NOT rewatch the show. It should also be consumed all at once, as an extended movie
I really liked the vibes of Endless Eight, that mix of melancholy, and the excitement for summer.
Even japs hated it when it was on the air. Stop LARPing as an elitist you fucking retard
Is this supposed to mean something? Japs have terrible taste in anime
Anime is made specifically for the Japanese. If they think it's shit then it is. And you have no right to have the opposite opinion because you're stupid gaijin
This, SG's time travel completely mogs Haruhi.
The ultimate filter
Shits;Gay
I watched E8 as it aired in summer '09
I was there
I did but I was going comatose halfway through
I still think the "reveal" in the second episode is incredibly eerie and effective
It was a funny gimmick for maybe two episodes but it robbed me of an actual S2
everything but the first and last episode is not animated nearly as good either
Steins;Gate is garbage, time travel for midwits.
Greetings war veteran
I like season 2 a lot if I just ignore how dumb and long E8 is and think of it as a mini season. E8, Bamboo Leaf Rhapsody and the whole movie arc (which is great, some real, relatively low stakes character dynamics finally start happening)
There's something about this show despite its flaws, nothing's ever gonna "feel" like it again.
I watched it and enjoyed it, but it just seemed like such a wasted effort. A monument to man's hubris.
THIS.
yuki a shit btw
I watched it and enjoyed it, but it just seemed like such a wasted effort. A monument to man's hubris.
Yeah this E8 as cool and creative as it's pointless, but in a way that makes it one of the most human things ever.
I spent an entire day just watching Endless 8. It created an odd effect in my mind that made me feel reassured that everything would always remain the same and the last episode started throwing me in for a loop when changes started occurring. It was a very unique experience and I still stand by the opinion that it was an incredible artistic move. It's the kind of shit you'd only see in avantgarde film and they put it right in the middle of a mainstream extremely popular series.
It was hell, but The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya was worth the wait. But God knows 4 months was way too much.
The part where the camera's giving Haruhi a colonoscopy lives rent free in my head.
As art?
It's very unique and interesting.
As entretretaiment?
It sucks, by the 3rd episode everyone already got the point but there's like 5-6 more.
Isn't there a literal tranny character in steins gay lol

It was incredibly ballsy.
tranny character
Embarrassing faggot
Haruhi used double team!
its true
I watched all of it multiple times.
I was there too. The threads were incredible.
It was considering how angry it made and still makes people.
Test
OP, YOURE A LYING PIECE OF SHIT
It was dumb, LN did it with 3 chapters/loops and it worked fine, gave reader a sense of deja vu without wasting their time.
Well to be fair LN and anime are different mediums so they are going to have different adaptation of it
TV being a different medium is part of why it felt so redundant. It's repeated 22 minute time investments of the same thing over and over which would have had the same effect with 3 or 4 episodes.
as a(n unintentional) troll though, it was impressive and I have to respect it a little
NTA but I wouldn't call it "unintentional troll". It was very much intentional. Endless Eight was supposed to drive you to anger and despair the same way Yuki was, it was purposefully infuriating, which is what trolling is in very simple terms.
I think it was brilliant because of the sheer balls it took and I respect it fully.
