Spring 2025 Anime

Now that the season's almost over what was your favorite, least favorite, dropped or rewatched anime?

Least favorite

Lazarus, which was probably the most disappointing anime I've seen in years

Favorite

You posted it.

trusting modern day Watanabe

I wasn't expecting it to be THAT much of a nothingburger. Every episode plays out exactly the same compared to Bebop. And Watanabe comes across with all the forced the social commentary

social commentary

Can you give more examples except for the trannies? I didn't watch Lazarus.

gcucks mogged everything else this season excluding to be hero x

Genius black scientist is somehow a victim of racism from white scientist, talks about punching him

Villain in one episode is a strawman Andrew Tate cryptobro who uses AI and demeans women

Canadian guy forced to dress like a woman

Random Muslims

Main villain is an enlightened Jewish scientist who creates a miracle drug and then announces it's actually going to kill everyone unless they find him and the cure he made, which will no doubt be in service of some grand scheme to end war or racism or something corny like that

I've also heard that Your Forma or some other anime has a qanon episode.

Genius black scientist is somehow a victim of racism from white scientist, talks about punching him

Watanabe seem to like blacks. I wonder what he thought about Jet Black being played by a black guy in the live action show?

so many great shows this season

witch watch

once upon a witch's death

rock is a lady's modesty

boku no ballpark

apocalypse hotel

dropped Makina san

dropped Makina san

Why?

Favorite

Fire Force

Least favorite

Lazarus

Dropped

Lazarus

Rewatched

Tanya the Evil

Takamine-san is my favorite thing this season, and might be my favorite thing ever, at least until they give something by Naoki Yamamoto a full adaptation instead of just a two-episode hentai OVA
Other favorites are Rock Lady, Kowloon Generic Romance, Once Upon a Witch's Death, Ninkoro, Kijin Gentosho, and of course Gorilla Girl

its too dumb

NOOOOOOOOOO we cant have sex, you dont know what a penis is!!!

Isn't that what's funny about it and what makes it worth watching instead of hentai? I don't know, I dropped it because I can only take so much "robot behaves indistinguishably from a human character except for isolated gimmicky robot gags" tomfoolery and it was affecting my enjoyment of Apocalypse Hotel

favorite

Maze, Black Cat, Minami-ke

dropped

Air Gear, Joshimuda, Hitoribocchi OO

CinGray is the only show I kept up with. I still want to finish Princession and ApoHotel but time constraints are tough.

My favorites are both unexpected ones being Ninkoro and Apocalypse Hotel.
And as mentioned, Lazarus just doesn’t have it.

Also I rewatched the Bat episode of Yaiba times just because I liked it so much.

These threads are getting boring this season since it's so obvious which are the prestige anime everyone is watching and which series Anon Babble will turn on for meme reasons
Where's the controversial picks? Which anon is going to say that the Shiunji Family Children is their AOTS?

favorite, least favorite, dropped or rewatched

none
i only read manga and novels

Tanya the Evil

I've only got back into anime in the last 3 months, what was the view of Tanya the Evil when it was released?

Isn't it one of those things like Umamusume where it transparently is what it is, anyone who would hate it would know better than to pick it up, leaving only the true believers who love it?

I was pretty hyped for Fire Force but turned out to be kind of a disappointment

favorite

Not counting sequels, Atelier Meister and Uchuujin MuuMuu.
Counting sequels, Uma Musume and Aharen.

least favorite

Lazarus.

dropped

Only low powerlevel faggots drop anything.

rewatched

How do you rewatch seasonal anime lmao.

retard

Maze

based

i dont get the love for witch watch. its a romcom set in high school and the witching stuff is just a bunch of gags. once upon a witch's death lives up to the witch stuff way more

this season was ass

if you're not picking up at least 30 series and giving yourself an even mix of good stuff and shit that's fun to discuss, dropping stuff that's neither, and making these decisions for yourself, then your power level is basically normalfag-tier

episode

it's an arc, not just 1 episode

Shiunji Family Children

It's incest harem but all the children are actually not related?

Who said I'm not watching more anime? Once you increase your powerlevel enough you develop a sixth sense that tell you everything you need to know about a show before watching it, Lazarus is an exception that had to be done because "Watanabe" and is clearly even worse than I thought but still pretty much what I was expecting.

Now that the season's almost over

We're only half way, what the fuck are you talking about?

dropped

Kowloon generic romance, dropped the moment the faggot shit started happening

and not really a harem but kind of a drama where one of them lusts after her adoptive brother in the creepiest way possible while the other sisters react in horror
it's actually quite fascinating, and I think we owe Reiji an apology

the fanservice bait from episode 1 also ended with that very same episode

a shame

Favorite

Yaiba. It has both style and substance in equal parts, and while it may be nothing more than a modern remake of a classic, it's still enjoyable. I loked the Dragon Quest Dai remake, I liked the Mahoujin Guruguru remake, and I like this remake.

Least Favorite

Bye Bye, Earth. It sounds profound, but it's just a lot of words words words words and little substance. It's fun to watch though, and Belle's a good looker. The show has the visuals for damn certain, even if the animation is kind of shoddy at times.

Dropped

Takamine. On top of weird release times, it just isn't that visually appealing. 99% of its appeal is supposedly good looks, but the art style just isn't there. Plus, there was no depth to the story, so the other 1% wasn't good either.

A close runner up for my favorite of the season is Mono. It's just cute girls doing cute things, but the atmosphere and characters are great. It fills my seasonal "comfy" quota almost perfectly. Can't go wrong with those goofy ass eyebrows either.

I was going to push back against your review of Takamine since it has a strong a plot as any romcom since after episode 3, but I wasn't reading your post linearly and based on your take on Bye Bye Earth you're probably just an idiot

Disappointment

Sentai Daishikkaku

To me this S2 is better than the first one but if you talk about the whole thing I get you, is just not as hardcore or interesting as it wants to be.

I'm watching Konosuba for the first time

Maybe I am misremembering how S1 was, but S2 also just feels very poorly animated.
