We know zetsu tree is used with certain people to implant missing limbs but nothing else, we don't know what happened with yamato, we don't know what happened with madara, those are bigger filters.
I think it's lowkey brilliant. For one madara -even without Kishi thinking about it intentionally- was Icarus who flew too close to the sun. Black Zetsu was a being made of chakra and madara just couldn't have predicted it or react. it makes the world of naruto instantly feel bigger. like there is a lot of things you don't know. also Madara being a vessel for Kaguya means that he was the only ninja that was perfect enough for her incarnation.
