Now that Mangadex is going down, I need suggestions to migrate my reading list to before it's too late.
Is Mangaupdates the best site to keep track of your manga
I've been using mangaupdates because its a stable website and they don't host any content that would make them a target.
You don't remember the time they where dmca'ed for hosting volume covers?
I just remember what magazines I read and what volumes I bought.
Manga Updates has too many gaps in its library.
Keep it local, you dingus.
i use anilist
for hosting volume covers?
the fucking what? Are nips really that asinine?
What if I only read online?
thousands upon thousands of titles
I don't think so, senpai.
Have you seen kodansha?
do the japanese have a site akin to anilist or this?
What if I only read online?
Then I'd assume you're not reading a whole lot and can easily remember it.
first 21 chapters of Gal no tsuchinoko
gone
was looking forward to reading it too.
What're my options now?
Very funny
And you didn't buy a single one of them?
What exactly do you need to track if you don't care about what you read?
If I buy 50 series then it's just 10 percent of that list. I can't read moonrunes and don't like buying digital, so I only ever bought English physical releases, which great majority of manga doesn't have.
500 manga and you don't know Japanese?
Who are you trying to fool?
very cool, thanks
theres a lot of translated manga and one-shots to be fair, its completely doable to read hundreds without knowing nippon
Note that is says reading, not read. You either read a one shot or you didn't. Two/three parters and short series exist but they're not that common that you'd have hundreds where you only read the first chapter and still intend to continue.
If you're that deep into the rabbit hole that you're following 500 different series, it's hard to imagine why you wouldn't have learned Japanese by that point.

never could learn the moonrunes, should have done it properly years ago, I wouldn't be here
it's hard to imagine why you wouldn't have learned Japanese by that point.
hiragana and katakana were easy, kanji wasnt. i should try to learn again since a lot of manga i enjoyed got taken down from mangadex, perhaps it was a sign..
why don't you just read on comick? there's where osis is going to upload from now on
Redpill me on mangaupdates, are the mods and admins leftists?

Starting to notice a pattern here desu, do we have some kind of anti-piracy buyfag schizo now? Every single thread about MD going down or piracy in general there's one faggot with the same question-heavy posting style bitching about le pirates being too cheap to buy manga.
It's OK for tracking, but fairly minimalistic on stats and discovery sides.
I just use bookmarks, that way I'll always know what I need to read next, even if a site dies.
I've just been using MAL for almost 18 years now. It just werks, I use other resources to find new things, all I need from MAL is a table where I can mark my reading progress.
I used to do this and then like a year ago I started following on MD itself. Needless to say, I'm going back to just using my browser bookmarks
Worst thing you'll encounter is the occaisional anoying poll (you can hide those with your adblocker) and lgbt being a tag. thats it.
I right click save as the dex follow pages into offline html. The style is broken but at least I can tell what manga is it right away with the cover and description
MAL has the worst library of manga out of the big sites and at least in my experience never add anything I try to that I'm reading. That being said I use MAL, Anilist, and MU.
kill yourself
That's because their manga database only showed up a couple years back
That being said I use MAL, Anilist, and MU
faggot
Why?
I've had a MAL account since 2009 and I'm pretty sure they had manga back then. So not recent. Maybe I'm wrong.
Doesn't comick compress & resample everything (like most other shitty aggregators)? That was one of the reasons Mangadex was better than the rest - they left stuff in its original size.

show your
Kimi no Love wo Misetekure!
It ended 6 days ago, nothing really changed, girl B getting the most skinship, the guy didn't do his Manga debut still being an assistant he also doesn't look any older, disappointing throuple, Messenger of the sea did it better even if it featured no significant timeskip.
They do not downscale nor change file type, for png they seem to be using crunch or similar, because for some titles files are exact copies of MD while some other have smaller filesize at same res, for jpeg they often have lower filesize and quality than MD, but still better than all the usual aggregators.

I usually keep recently finished series for a few months because there might be volume or pixiv/twatter extras.
and they don't host any content that would make them a target.
Looks like you only got to know Mangaupdates after they were gutted, in other words, their current state.
They actually were a target in the past, Mangaupdates used to directly link to scanlators websites, their IRC or forum, about 15 years ago, that of course made them a target of DMCAs. They really were the main hub for getting your stuff before online readers became a thing.
They do not downscale nor change file type
Not what I was saying
for jpeg they often have lower filesize and quality than MD
THAT'S what I was questioning.
So just another shitty aggregator then..
Is there a single other site out there that doesn't ruin the manga they host?
This time you are in for a long wait, Volume 5 is coming out in September.
i use myanimelist because its convenient and i dont engage with the tranny retards who infest the forums
it just werks
Now that Mangadex is going down
What?
Is this komga? I was gonna migrate to that. But I've been muscle memory'd into my ipad yacreader setup
it's suwayomi (with slightly modified default webui)
I have server set up on a 13" tablet pc but often read on big desktop monitor
have you been under a rock the last week?
I know all that of course, i was talking about RIGHT NOW.
are the mods and admins leftists?
Oh look at this fucking drama queen.
Why would you get involved with the admin team on such a website? Just like, look the other way, you idiot Anon Babbletard.
