Some dedicated haters rants about Pokemon having 1000+ episode on Ash's quest to win the Pokemon league yet Detective conon has over 1100 episode yet Shinichi haven't come close to shut down the Black Organization or find a permanent antidote for his condition so he could resume his high school life as Shinichi with Ran. I mean The Kindaichi Case Files has Kindaichi grow up, graduate , get a job ,get married & had a child yet hardly anybody remember this series. Does characters even age on Detective Conan because Ran seem to be a highschool student for 19 years!

Even One Piece has Luffy searching One Piece for 1000+ episode yet we know nothing about One Piece. So why is Ash Ketchum the only one being criticized for this?

Ash gets "reset" almost every region and acts as if his previous experiences didn't happen. BW was the worst offender.

Both Conan and One Piece are manga, and so the anime are beholden to the whims of them. Pokemon is its own thing, where he could'e, and should've won ages ago instead of remaining a static character.

Ash was ok for the first seasons, you can tell where the passion stopped and it got commercialized, so they kept rebooting the poor guy.

Conan's mega popularity in japan means that people actually watch and discuss the episodic mysteries in order to look for clues and solve them amongst themselves for fun. It's an aspect that goes completely over your head if you don't have any friends.

Conan and One Piece are their own stories were the main draw are the plot and the characters, Pokemon most important aspect is the pokemons, just like the main aspect of Beyblade are the tops. Even franchises that started as their own stories like Gundam and Yu-gi-oh! ended being overshadowed by the robots and the cards respectively so you can have many stories that use that setting.

Pokemon is a video game first, so a-lot of kids grew up expecting Ash to become a Champion like Red. Then when Red came back as the secret boss of Gen 2, it just made Ash look worse. He lost Johto and got "Reset" for Hoenn. From that point on he became a joke among fans.
