I'm not scared to admit that the colored manga basically psyopped me into believing that all the Shueisha colors for Part 6 and 7 (plus Gappy and Yasuho) are canon, and shouldn't be changed. I think they all fit just fine. Most Part 5 designs are based on actual fashion designs, so those are pretty good to me too. The other Parts are a lot more subjective to me though.

But he would rather follow his own light even if that's dangerous because that light is what will take him to become the man. He wants to be.
Gyro is the same, he lacks the "hunger" Jhonny and Diego have because for them the race is a matter of life and dead. "hunger" in this context is not referring to ambition of greed, but rather the NEED for something. Jhonny NEEDS to be able to walk again, living without the ability to walk is not living for him, similarly Diego values his dignity and status as things that are an inseparable part of his identity, without those there's no Diego.
Why was Gyro a conformist?
Because his motivations are noble but weak.
Gyro's actual conflict is between his father's ideology and his own passionate and outwardly being. Gyro can't accept the ways of his father, even if he has no problems with being an executioner, you can't take sentimentality away from him because that's who he is.
The kid is not the problem, is just a spark that Kickstarted the flames, but even if Gyro puts down the flames by winning the race he won't stop the lighter (his conflict with his father) from creating a new spark.
This is a core part of Gyro up to that point, he reacts, he acts in self defense without addressing the root of the issue, until Ringo helps him see a path of ligh one where he can create a way for him to live by himself.

Here's the problem with that
Gyro is extremely proactive at achieving his goals. He actively fights against all the influences on him that drive him to act a certain way. And has moved Heaven and Earth for himself to get to where he is. He's also more than willing to use violence against those that either annoy him or obstruct his goals. He has taken a life in what is essentially cold blood, because the guy dared to obstruct him joining the race.
Gyro has put everything on the line for this race right now, and even when people have tried to kill him, he has never thought about turning back.
Johnny on the other hand is substantially reactive. Him pursuing Gyro is a big move, but it is one that is inspired by another's actions and his pathway is in the footsteps of another.
He is also extremely reticent to start a fight, and while in one, is more likely to surrender to someone if he thinks it will save his life, over dying before having his resolve break. Johnny is someone that wants to see tomorrow, and will do whatever he can to achieve that. Even if it means humiliating himself.
Johnny has a lot of guts and the willpower to commit to a fight for his life and take someone elses.
But he is not by any measure of what we see, more hungry than Gyro or more willing to go to the edge than Gyro.
This disparity between them was essentially invented just for the Ringo fight.
The "True Man's World" is about whatever entirely subjective moral metric lets you pretend you're an intellectual for three chapters. Can we stop acting like it means anything important at all?

My problem with Yuki Ono's voice for Josuke is that he sound sort of bland. I'm not sure how else to describe it, but it never made me go, "Yeah, I can totally imagine him sounding like that!" like the JoJos proceeding him. He gave a good performance, but I dunno, he just never clicked for me. His Doras are also not that great sounding, the "rarara" part always sounded like he slurred it compared to ASB's actor, Wataru Hatano. On that note, Hatano's Doras are god tier, but I feel his voice is far too deep and rugged for Josuke. I think he was leaning into Josuke being a delinquent too much, like he based his voice on his early appearance, not Part 4 as a whole. Which is strange, since Hatano loved the character and playing him, but perhaps he simply envisioned Josuke with that kind of voice while I don't.

Then you get a small text based adventure "mount and blade" style to determine your character's background and horse
In game you manage 3 things: your character (you get the background in the text adventure) your stand (you get it in the personality test) and your horse (you get it in the text adventure)
Allowing for a lot of replayability with the combinations of stand and backgrounds, and even horses
In game you can try to stick to Gyro and Jhonny to follow the main story or do something else like trying to end the race on your own, ally with Diego, the president, or team up with side characters like Hot Pants, Pocoloco, or (the real) Sandman, maybe even try to take the corpse for you alone
Depending on your background and stand characters react in different ways (Gyro will treat you like Shit if you are a woman, Hot Pants will be friendlier if you come from a religious background, Diego might try to Ally with you if your character is of the nobility, etc)
The race segments are like fights but you mainly use the skills of your horse to bypass your competition while also trying to keep an eye on your remaining stamina relative to the length of the segment
