Why did Sakamoto Days fail?

Why did Sakamoto Days fail?

cut content

It has no story, the action is mediocre and it's not even slightly funny.

nobody like oldman fat ugly protagonist

Its a fight anime with some comedy and they spent no money trying to make it look nice.

Dandandan had more marketing but still a manga flop, ultimately we are likely seeing the start of the end for shueshia

The premise is retarded.

Not really comparable, Sakamoto Days is cheap slop and DDD is very expensive

the protagonist is so fucking boring the only good are the other characters

Director who doesn't get the source material.

The studio that adapted it was shit, so it didn't become a hit

at the mercy of normalfaggots bandwagoning / FOMO. Sakamoto Days was unlucky compared to Dandadan.

Same soulless slop, but one was promoted by Jews more & appealed to broccoli haired mutts / leftist incels

Take a manga that lives and dies by its paneling and action sequences and give it an adaptation thats completly fucks the action with cheap animation

Dandandan had more marketing

lol wat
They refused to market it, leading to significant controversy. They intentionally limited the promotion of the Dandadan anime due to a licensing dispute.

This pic is objective proof that 99% of people only care about animation quality

netflix "quality"

Dandadan ONLY got popular from sexy girl characters, most of the coomers liking that post probably didn't even watch the boring ass show

Oof.

It’s a marathon not a sprint, Sakamoto will be redeemed and DDD will flop this summer

In action shows that barely have a story? Duh

nobody like oldman fat ugly protagonist

It's not getting a season 2 bro. It fucking flopped because of the art.

I liked it

This pic is objective proof that 99% of people only care about animation quality

Of course. Why watch a show that looks like crap? Might as well just read the manga instead at that point.

Reminds me of Shitsaw Man's anime.

Even as a manga, sakamoto is just

oh nice action

and done. It's boring.

DanDaDan was built on Black culture, and Black culture is literally the synonym for groundbreaking & popular.

Funny enough I prefer days over Dan but that's not saying much

That's literally its most interesting gimmick

He's actually only 27

I prefer Taco Bell over Burger King

This would be seen as average or decent in the 2000s. Are zoomers really all ADHD-riddled faggots?

If anything his oldman form is too underused nowadays

By today's QUALITY standards this is salvageable. I am not sayiong that its good nor that I approve it, but, really, have you seen some other "mainstream" anime getting hentai level of pŕoduction?

story

retired assassin wants to retire and live the quiet slow life, but some asshat wants him ded. Its not Dostoyevsky, its but a simple premise.

action

its good, with tones of comedy. It didnt say anywhere that it would be balls to the wall scrotum clenching fast action.
I like it, and considering some other shit of the season, its way above average.

not funny

Comedy is subjective

poor direction and art that doesn't do the series justice

I guarantee cutting one chapter cop lady and buying a kid backpack episode did not deflate the hype for sakamoto days

That's not the story, that's the premise. The premise itself was fine but the author never developed that into a story. Sakamoto himself is pretty boring, his family are just background characters for him. Shin isn't very interesting either.

shill shit shill got shilled harder

Th-They refused to market it

lol tard

it's boring

He is le assassin...

but he le doesnt kill

HOW FUCKING ORIGINAL

starts as a mix of action and comedy, relatively chill and fun

eventually morphs into a full blown battle shounenshit with endless fights, writes off the chinese girl out of the story entirely and becomes impossibly bland, with every chapter feeling entirely ai generated

Zoomers hate firearms

I really liked the Sakamoto Days manga but when I watched the anime I literally had to force myself to watch it, I was close to dropping it until I realised it was the last episode of the season. It might just be that the anime is adapting the part of the manga that I find less interesting but it also seems to be very poorly paced with everything taking ages to get through. The shit animation quality doesn't help but most TV anime is like that so nothing you can do about that.

It has made me realise however that the cast of interesting characters in the manga is smaller than I originally thought.

DanDaDan was the most Jewed anime of the 2020s. Literally the decade's Cuckademia (is it a coincidence that the author worships its protagonist and modeled his MC based on him? I think not).

There were actually people claiming Sakamoto Days would dethrone Spy x Family

When will they learn?

I couldn't get past the first chapter.
