Ruins a generation of shonen in your path

ruins a generation of shonen in your path

nothing personal kid

This was already the product of the ruining of shounen.

all trace back to naruto

Chainsaw Man part 2 will save Shonen once it gets animated.

An anon on Anon Babble was talking about how severe the quality drop has come by comparing modern slop to the lowest barrel scraping pulp fiction from like a hundred years ago

No, TikTok power-scalers ruined shonen

Was shounen ever good?

i dunno i read some of the original pulp stories about the shadow and they were pretty lame. there are a lot of comics from the era that are forgotten for good reason as well. though it's true that there are a lot of gems as well

jjk is literally the best shounen and i've been watching anime since about 2012 2013

JJK isn't that bad... Until 236, that is.

I fucking WISH more shonen were as good as JJK.

Notice how every bad Shonen was inspired by Bleach.

I haven't watched either but I read the solo leveling ln and it was dogshit with a shallow story, no stakes and 1 dimensional characters. JJK gives me tokyo ghoul sloppa vibes so I've steered clear, is it as shit as it looks?

I'm too young for the peak Big 3 era

Opinion discarded. Big 3 peak was early 00s

The bad parts of Bleach, which they end up doing worse.
Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi, for example. The current arc is ripping off the Fake Karakura Town arc, but with characters we barely know and don't care about.

JJK is better than Solo Levelling. That's not saying much, but it is what it is.

Is solo leveling so bad because it's korean?

delusional narutard

literally /who/

Jujutsu Kaisen, the manga that started out alright, but quickly devolved into just endless fighting (not uncommon, it also happened to Mashle and Sakamoto Days)

Solo Leveling, the manhwa that didn't even bother pretending it wasn't just about the dumb litRPG numbers-go-up aura farming

You live under a rock or something?

I really hope OP gets payed for this.

This. If modern Shounen followed the Naruto or one Piece models they would actually be good. Instead we get this crap.

That explains why Kimetsu was good. It had Jojos bizarre adventure and Naruto to offset the awful Bleach parts.

All of these were also inspired by Naruto. It's One Piece that has had no influence.

Especially noticeable in MHA

No wonder it was so bad…

Only Kimetsu was inspired by Naruto. This just proves Anon Babble doesn't understand Naruto.
Wrong. It's only. Noticeable in Kimetsu
MHA would have been better if it was. Naruto copy instead of a Bleach copy. Deku would have stayed the greatest hero into adulthood.

Their Naruto influence is superficial at best with the exception of Kimetsu.

The pioneer of making Shounen braindead as shit

JJK is kino even if it isn’t perfect and you faggots can suck it, also kgb is also kino

Dude. You'd have to be willfully blind to not see the Naruto parallels all throughout MHA. Even some of the story arcs mirror Naruto.

JJK peaks with Shibuya sadly. And Shinjuku is complete garbage.

Not really.
The attempt at making a trio is even more half assed than JJK's, the rival isn't the true final antagonist and as for war arcs bleach had two and MHA also had multiple war arcs as well.

Pretty much everyone thought the last act was garbage man.

I said "parallel" not "carbon copy"

Yeah and those parallels are superficial shit compared to the Bleach ones. That said MHA and to an extent Kimetsu still had their own ideas. Can't say the same for JJK where the writer was on autopilot the whole time.

The only mangaka that does one piece like arcs is Hiro Mashima with Fairy tail and Eden's zero which were both adventure manga. But Hiro Mashima is from the same generation as Oda/kishimoto/Kubo rather than being influenced by them.

We can agree on JJK for the most part. I do think it started with a couple good ideas, but went to crap really quick.

Fake Karakura Town arc, but with characters we barely know and don't care about.

It's true to its inspiration

I genuinely like JJK, it was refreshing that the protagonists weren't some noble knights with high goals, everyone except Yuta and Yuji was an asshole

Gojo: nuff said, biggest asshole in the manga, while he cared for humanity, he didn't have the heroic spirit, he was a bored God, straight up killed the elders

Shoko: didn't give a rat's ass about her mates, didn't care when Geto died or when Gojo died, smoking drunk whore (would bang, though)

Nobara: kinda like Sakura but was not particularly warm to Yuji or Megumi, only cared about shopping and looking good

Megumi: a self-hating edgelord that only cared for his vegetable sister

Nanami: while genuinely caring for humanity's safety, he didn't care for his coworkers, just as nihilistic as Megumi, hated Gojo a lot

Mei Mei: biggest cunt in the manga, literally fled Shibuya when her buddies were getting slaughtered, televised the Shinjuku fight and profited off of it

Utahime: just a pawn in the school system, her support was abysmal

Todo: literally a schizo, only cares for his idol and Yuji

Noritoshi Kamo: bolted out of the Shinjuku fight

The rest of Kyoto school except for Miwa: assholes all around, especially Mai, Maki and Momo

Ijichi: literally a wagie

All of this just tells is why Demon Slayer is so fucking ass and the author is a literal NPC. It's a soulless Phantom Blood copy mixed with Naruto, but instead of the story being set in England (which was VERY novel at the time), it's set in a boring 20th century Japanese society and it doesn't even have a smidget bit of the creativity JoJo has. I'm baffled how someone can steal its power system but make Hamon less fun and less creative.

It also doesn't have the passion of being written by a perpetual loser who finally made it into the industry unlike Naruto. It's very telling that the slut behind Demon Slayer was inspired by Naruto, because Jump was desperately looking for a replacement and their manga still went unnoticed for 3 full years. It also steals from Bleach very much (another ass manga), because the slut stole from the Gotei 13 but made them far less interesting than the Gotei.

The worst part about JJK were Yuji and especially Megumi. Everyone else was pretty cool though.

At least JJK has some highs to contrast the lows, the fact that is has some quotable lines already puts it over Solo Leveling.
I think Solo Leveling is one of the most barebones Skinner boxes I've seen. People say it's all hype moments and aura, but it doesn't even have aura, unless you count the literal visual one.

No, I think there are actually a few rare good korean series, the problem is that solo leveling is shit and gookfags deepthroat it.

Solo Leveling and JJK are exactly what a shounen battle series should be: a lame premise that's just an excuse for a bunch of really cool fights. Solo Leveling is a bit better because at least it focuses on Sung Jin Woo and it makes it clear that it's his story. I get sick of seeing midwit shounenshit writers who think writing lots of characters and giving them equal spotlight means good writing. Bleach and its influence on modern battle shounen has been disastrous.

Still can’t get over just how popular Demon Slayer became. It was crazy seeing it happen in real time. I don’t think I’ll ever see a manga become THAT big THAT fast ever again.

Having lots of characters makes shonens better. It's more fun to compare power rankings across a large roster than to argue if Vegeta can beat Goku 10 times a day

in your path

Luckily it´s already been taken care off. It´s all a bit technical but the future of shonen´s been secured.

JJK is just incompetent, Solo Levelling is Korean Naroushit that I assume was originally written by a literal child

How do we make powerscalers embarrassed again

Shonen battle manga = power scaling manga. There's plenty of action shows you can enjoy if you don't like that, no need to try and subvert a genre you don't like

there was shonen before DBZ scouters
you stole the genre from people that just wanted to read chapters about silly nightmare training methods like climbing up a greased tower

JJK ruined shonen, Solo Leveling ruined Manhwa industry

How did jjk ruin what was already ruined?

It ruined the dreams of anyone who thought it could be fixed.

mha was literally called "green naruto" by anons here for the first 2 years of its run

JJK is the worst of all the post-big 3 shounen, even My Hero Academia is better (at least that one has good art and character design)

Chainslop was/is worse.

Solo Leveling didn't ruin anything. It's one of hundreds of identical webnovels that happened to win the popularity lottery somehow. Another identical series would have taken its place if it didn't exist.

One Piece and it's final saga are healing the damage they have caused.

Nobody cares about Gen X nonsense
