Well, I don't want to ruin this show for you, but yeah. It will turn into a slow-paced guerilla fights between fellow autists, femcels, and space magicians. At some point it will get messy and overly spectacular (limitless mobile suits with "muh limited resources", lol). I don't know why Gundam boomers glaze over Zeta, when it fails to improve mediocre elements from the original series, and is inferior to ZZ (that's, on the other hand, shat on by Gundamfags).

Fresh out of officer school IIRC. Pretty sure his tour aboard the White Base was his first official assignment, even. 0079 is pretty hardcore when you remember that most of the cast members are underage, VERY green and/or civilians.

I strongly disagree that Zeta didn't improve the mediocre elements of the original 0079. Zeta has amazing fight animations compared to 79, the ost is great, and there is more nuance in terms of conflict between spacenoids and earthnoids. 79 showed a little bit of how the federation was incompetent and corrupt but still made them out to be the good guys. Meanwhile, Zeon was made to be the big bad villian with not a lot of depth going into why they started the one year war. Between the Titans, A.E.U.G, Federation, and Zeon it feels more complex and entertaining imo. Then again I love Zeta so maybe I can't see the flaws it has, like with some of the characters.

Zeta is super repetitive, the animation is better but the fights are less interesting because the original had a lot of wacky hyper specific enemies and it felt like a monster of the week show with how many different enemies they fought. In Zeta all the enemies feel samey other than the O and the Psycho Gundam.

Kinda sorta but not really? Kamille joining the AEUG only happened because he chimped out like the autistic child that he is, but Quattro Vaginas, Apolly and Roberto were probably going to be able to steal at least one of the Mk-IIs even without him. The entirety of Zeta would've been different (Anaheim would've taken longer to actually finish the Zeta with only one of the Mk-IIs and without Kamille's input, and they'd have been down at least one ace pilot in Kamille, probably two from not getting Emma) but it's not like the entire series wouldn't have happened at all.

Yeah in terms of fights and mobile suit designs Zeta is repetitive but it has more variety of mobile suits and antagonists spread throughout the show compared to 79. More importantly, the context of the fights in Zeta makes it much more interesting. Sometimes the enemy faction is on the offense or vice versa with A.E.U.G, or the A.E.U.G is on the defensive like when they are trying to protect the meeting where Quattro is giving a speech condemning the Federation. The situation in 79 is just " White Base go here and kill these Zeeks grunts", the only interesting thing about it is that the White Base is the underdogs with no support but Zeta also has that underdog feeling of tension as well but in different scenarios. The only unique encounters in 79 I can remember in Char, Ranba Ral, Lala, and the final fight.

I've always wondered if I should watch 0079 TV series or movies. I heard the movies are the better way to go as it fixes the TV series' problems, but I remember watching some episodes of the anime back when I lived in Japan and and (although I wasn't paying much attention to it) the retro feel was fun. Kind of like watching Galaxy Express 999.
