(That being said, the first half of the story is good in the same way eating at Burger King seems great when you're starving. Otherwise it's mid.)

I brought up this topic before but I've dwelled on it a bit.
So called Solo Leveling 'fans' will claim they like the show and praise it to high heaven but few among them will create fanart.
There are a few pieces here and there certainly but compared with shows with only a fraction of the fanbase it supposedly has it's pittance.
There are 3 possible explanations I've come up with:
#1) Solo Leveling fans are not creative, there is very little overlap between people who like this show and artists.
#2) Solo Leveling fans are not inspired, there may be plenty artists in the fanbase but because they engage with the material on such a shallow level nothing in the show has moved them to create.
#3) Solo Leveling fans are not real, a large amount of the attention the show gets are are not from people who actually like the show, either Morbius or initial Kagurabachi style pretend fandom or bots or paid shilling.
I think that a huge part is that the aesthetic of SL is very lacking. There's also no character that really matters in it besides the MC.
Yeah, the anime might be able to do a bit better, but the guild arc is useless, the double dungeon being the only good part. The American arc is pointless and is basically a nothingburger, the national levels being jokes. The monarch fight is pretty shitty. The final battle with dragon guy feels like it lacks any real character due to him having no buildup. The reset ending fucking sucks. The epilogue chapters are pretty comfy at least.
