I get what Takeru is going for but more color would be just fine. There are other neutral colors too. That's why I hope the adaptation has a real kick-ass team working on the background art I think a too literal translation of manga to anime would look bland.

Personally I'm not convinced Iori is joining yet. What would she contribute? What if Samura survives and Tobimune is just broken? I get that people like Iori and would like another girl in the cast for the existing characters to interact with but I'm prepared for her to leave after this arc.

I prefer hetpairings but sorry I just don't see it with Chihiro and Iori. I fear she's gonna be the type to chase after him telling him 'revenge bad!' which is just lame and boring. Maybe if she goes through an edgy phase first I dunno.

Tbh I'm skeptical about anyone joining at this point, even Hakuri who is set up as partner got braindamaged/left behind as soon as his storehouse ability was done advancing the plot, Char is gone... Iori diesn't want to kill people so how would she fit in with a team of murderers basically? I do want her to hang around with the main cast.

I think Hakuri will return. Char will show up here and there, her arc is over and she gets to be safe and happy now. But I just don't see it for Iori. Hakuri is willing to kill people and has nothing holding him back and Iori isn't like that. If Tobimune is broken I predict she doesn't join. If Samura dies then she does. It's just that that anon made a strong argument for Tobimune breaking.

Yeah Hakuri will return for sure but I don't want him to go through that cycle of killing himself to be useful->can't use sorcery->having to be protected/sit back again. If Hokazono wasn't allergic to normal training arcs I wold have more hopes.

hakuri's situation was because he got severly injured by yanbro Souya before getting warehouse, and pushed ahead with sorcery despite his body protesting about the damage.

Getting physically injured has nothing to do with it, he overused storehouse after just unlocking it, brain damage would happen either way. He should be fine with using sorcery if he takes time to recover and then eases into it, but the story is moving so fast he might not have time and will enter a vicious cycle. It's also a problem that he can be borderline suicidal as long as it's helpful to people.

I figure Iori is a bigger threat really but I also think it's possible to end it with the main pairing unconfirmed. Besides I don't care all that much about what is canon as long as Chihiro has more emotional, tense interactions with either friends or enemies t.fujo

I can't see Chihiro in a relationship right now or anytime soon. Currently I would also prefer the series ending with no pairings, at minimum he's got a little daughteru to take care of and be happy with so to me it feels like there's already a good option for a happy ending. He can settle down somewhere and raise Char and teach her how to forge or something. If he is gonna get paired up I do think it will probably he Iori unless Hiyuki gets more narrative focus. But I also think it makes more sense to be a fujo right now if you're into that just from an entertainment and fandom participation perspective because there's more content.

I think thats the wavelength Hokazono is on, too. We're not gonna get him simping for any of the waifus anytime soon.
If the theory that the Blades plot is a halfway point or a 2/3 point, and there is some further greater plot at play that will be the rest of the manga. THEN, I can see Chihiro opening up to someone, and some sort of pairing being developed. He reaches his goal, he can let go of some of his autistic-singlemindedness now even though there is still more killing to be done. That sort of thing.
I don't really think there is a post-Blades plot, though.

I want hokazono to give a good option to straightbros, Iori is kinda meh and I'm starting to think Hiyuki is not going to appear much at all. A balanced cast is better for the series in the long run.

Personally I just don't think Chihiro's base personality is suited for that sort of stuff right now and with the options he has. When you consider Char too you realize that he's effectively gonna be a single dad especially if Shiba dies. Maybe it doesn't factor in to other people but it makes me think he'd be better off not bothering with relationship shit until he's older and his options are mature enough to deal with that and be OK with it. It's a shame genre conventions won't let him get with someone a little bit older than him because that seems most sensible to me.

I'm fine with pairings if it's the "they get along well and it's kind of implied they'll get together after the end" version instead of a clear romance arc. Unironically I kind of liked the idea of Chihiro with Hinao for some reason but that ship has sailed, maybe it's because it seemed like a no drama, mostly offscreen ship I'd be happier with than the plot getting hijacked by romance shennanigans.

I've come to the same opinion over time because fact is most battle shonen mangaka can not write a good romance so something implied, off-screen, after the end is the better atlernative. Same reason why I can't stand this new breed of fujo that wants their pairing confirmed. No you don't!
