Nazotoki wa Dinner no Ato de - episode 6

The victim should have gotten isekai'd by Train-kun for all his kindness.

Pity bump

AOTS

What did you think of Kuru Kuru-chan's concert?

thick snail thighs...

Aren't those just puffy shorts?

snails don't wear shorts

Cause actual snails don't have legs, so there is nothing to pull the shorts on. Kuru Kuru needs shorts and a shirt or she will be arrested for public indecency.

cats and dogs don't wear anything and they roam freely, naked
so do snails

the killer was some random guy

hardly any goofball antics

This case was a major disappointment

I didn't find this case any worse or better than the previous ones, but it's quite obvious writing mystery is not their forte. Still miles better than something like Chuzenji-sensei, where even the goofball antics are not much.
It's not fun being a mystery fan these days, feels like all the good stuff is in the past.

It's funny how the demon slayer show had better mystery arc than the actual mystery shows.

There was no mystery here, the case solved itself with surveillance footage and the butler knowing everything again.
We got a short story about a vtuber instead, which was ok on its own. But the detectives were unnecessary elements added to the story on their own show

Are the subs at all different on this show?
Watching Erai-raws, each time Necroducer starts yelling, the subs begin to end all his lines MOLTO BENE, BENISSIMO, although as far as I can tell he's just speaking Japanese unless he's throwing in some stealth Mandarin terms going under my radar. I presume I'm watching dubtitles like the Disney Medalist subs, while Hulu's TL also existed.

The trannylators translate his cool Engrish as Italian.

How does butler solve everything if he doesn't follow Hanakana on investigating case?

detectives were unnecessary elements

Well, you can't have butler arresting people, even Conan and Kindaichi have stupid cops to jump on the running culprit, in this show we are merely following the case from the other perspective.
The problem is that there isn't much in the drama regarding their lives. The plotline with Hosho juggling her dream job and her public image as heiress seems to be completely forgotten. The hint that butler is hiding something sinister is yet to get anything beyond that one scene. The jokes are supposed to be extra flavouring, but it seems they became the only thing they do.

the comedy is at least as important as the cases, they're not doing a very good job of setting up a longer term plan though

As far a mystery goes we already have Kowloon and Shoshimin and Your Forma and Kijin Gentosho so I'd say we're eating pretty good without expecting this to be anything other than what it is

Isn't Your Forma considered to be pretty bad? I don't think I've seen anyone talk about it positively.

Your Forma is the Bye Bye, Earth of the AI genre.

your forma is not good. it hasn't quite shit the bed but it's got some pacing problems maybe. i like it generally but i can see how it could easily fall apart. also it's not really a mystery, maybe. the main mystery is what the fuck the story is.

the demon slayer show

Which anime?

Pretty offopic, but are mystery series usually so numerous? The most recent that comes to mind was the cake author with the enormous chest, although that's more of a supernatural series like Dark Gathering. That there are apparently 5 or so whodunnits on simultaneously surprises me. I presumed Your Forma was a battle shounen and never noticed Kijin Gentosho at all. The last detective show I remember watching was Double Decker a while ago now.

your forma is a shoujo robot-boy romance but with some darkish drama

dying to protect a... vtuber snail

Defend this.

a vtuber snail's purse

Would you Kurukuru-chans coin purse?

I guess one can say he went crazy after finding out he will never sing again, and Kuru became the only good thing in his life, but he had hots for that cartoon snail long before losing hope (and before it even looked like a girl), so I'm dropping this case.

Kowloon and Shoshimin and Your Forma and Kijin Gentosho

With the exception of Shoushimin none of those are classical murder mystery type shows where the clues are all shown and the viewer has a (mostly) fair chance at solving the mystery. Up until this case Nazotoki was the closest one in that vein, followed by Shoushimin and Chuuzenji.

Vtuber fans deserve worse actually.

That's a far more specific thing to ask for than the already small genre of mystery and suspense, and it's already so antiquated a niche that the parodies of it are already over half a century old. And don't forget that Detective Conan is still running

Cheap way to make me tear up!

You can eat shit too, but I wouldn't say you would eat good.
Shoushimin is top tier.
Kowloon is decent, but I wouldn't say it's a mystery show.
Your forma is bad, really bad, it's written by someone stupid.
Kijin gentosho is also bad, the first ep was great, but so far it has been incredibly boring and slow.
This show is at least funny.

Kijin gentosho is also bad, the first ep was great, but so far it has been incredibly boring and slow.

The first episode was by far the worst and it has improved by leaps and bounds since then

Kazamatsuri lives in a bubble of self-importance that logic can rarely penetrate

Hosho tries, but could barely solve a crossword puzzle without her butler

They were hired cause someone high ranked in police owed their families, right?

I'm sorry but do you even like mystery series if you have a problem with sword guy's pacing? And what is the distinction between it and Shoshimin that has been meandering around a single arc for most of the season? At least it's interesting that you have a reason to dislike it other than the same meme reason from the prologue episode as everyone else

They really did great on building the feels. I had to hold myself from crying.

so do snails

wrong, the shell is their clothing

Shoushimin is not about a sword guy fighting demons? In Shoushimin the mundane is the focus and matters, but what does the guy eating soba again add to the story?
Shoushimin is not slow because even the little things matter.

Are you the one who takes the English titles of series too literally and were disappointed that nobody was solving mysteries at the dinner table and didn't realize that riddle time is after dinner? Jinya does slay the demons if he needs to but it's more about the stories of the demons and the people he meets along the way. Also it's two-cour and not near finished and I'm sure there will be more demon fighting, but if you were expecting Demon Slayer then you were mistaken

snails are hermaphrodites

their mating includes both releasing sperm into each other

Sounds kind of gay

Yeah, this was probably the weakest episode so far. Between the murderer being a random dude and everything being solved by convenient surveillance footage the mystery aspect was a total flop, and it also just wasn't funny at all. Instead there's the story with the vtuber which honestly pissed me off because come on, this whole "i wanted to become a famous streamer to give back to my fans and feel wanted" shit is so stupid. She's a streamer because she enjoys fame and getting tons of money. The whole "fan meets vtuber and he's actually a pretty boy who makes songs for her" thing was also so blatantly a self-insert by the writer who was daydreaming of meeting his favorite streamer who he donates way too much money to. Very embarrassing episode overall

Actual 80 IQ post

vtumor fans are pathetic, the episode

you gave me a reason to live

Anon Babble: lol fuck vtubers

Anon Babble is literally missing the point of the entire fucking episode

Don't care, now I had a detour in my train of thought and now I'm playing Ocean Man in my head

The point of episode is obviously never to help people on the street as they might turn out to be psychotic stalkers.
