Kimi to Idol does intentionally go for a bit of an old-school shoujo style, but it's hard to mistake it for a 90's kodomo/shoujo anime.

I think many 2012 anime look pretty much identical to current anime. Mid and even late 2000s anime look very distinct from the present though. They're modern enough that Zoomers could enjoy them but they're easy to tell apart. Almost 38.
