I mean
WE are giving our time and word of mouth to make the manga WE read popular and thus get an anime adaptation in the future.
What else they want?
Money?
Bit delusional
Should manga be legally free?
Why don’t you make an example and start working for free yourself.
I already am
This is my job to promlte anime with posts for free
No, then downloading and never reading them would not be fun. Downloading anime, manga and retro games and never opening them is way more fun than consuming them.
Good luck getting food on the table.
Sounds like a sad life.
Read scanlation of something
Really like it
Tell people about it
They tell other people about it
It gets popular
Gets officially released in my country
I buy a copy for my shelf
Versus
Scanlation doesn't exist
Never learn enough about the work to become invested in it
Other people feel the same way
Work never expands to other markets
Japanese people are very aggressive about running businesses wrong.
"If you read it, the author or the publisher will not be paid at all"
Can't Japanese understand that even if we do not read scanlation, the author/publisher won't be paid because it's not available in others countires?
Either way they won't get money because scanlation or not, we CAN'T buy it
I have never paid one dime for music i consume in 5 minutes, and never will.
I have never paid one dime for a subcription service to hundreds of slop i dont want to watch just to watch one show i do want to watch, and never will.
I have never paid one dime for a chapter of a manga i consume in 5 minutes, and never will.
I have never paid one dime to watch an anime episode i will watch once, and probably never again in its entirety, and never will.
Mangaplus exists, you can't offer less from now
I already pay for the manga I actually enjoy. Every other manga I read but don't pay for is me giving them a chance to win me over with each new chapter. For example One Piece, I have read every chapter up to the latest one, but I haven't bought a single volume, because I think the author messed up by blueballing us with the mystery and making it so unnecessarily long. But maybe the next chapter will be the one that will make all the years of waiting worth it. Due to the length, it has become less of a 1% chance of it happening, but it still might, so I'm giving Oda the chance to win me over and getting my money. If I couldn't read it for free, he wouldn't get the chance from me and I would stop thinking One Piece even exist.
And if there's no official translations what happens anon? Why do you think many series got popular in the west without an anime or even an official release?
Return to gatekeeping
twitter screencap thread
Anon Babble is healing
DUDE JUST RANDOMLY BUY RAWS IN A LANGUAGE YOU CAN'T READ FOR A SERIES YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT BESIDES THE PRETTY PICTURES
when will westoids learn that japs don't care about them?
The lack of expansion to other markets isn't a bug it's a feature.
Japan remains one of the cuckest nation on Earth.
Every other country ravish around the idea of people around the world enjoying their culture because it makes them feel proud of their roots and reinforce the strengh of their soft power.
Japan is so centered on itself it has 0 patriotic sense outside their isolated island, they'd rather have no one loving the shit they create than having them enjoying it in ways that do not benefit them directly.
Some random kid in mexico would probably kill his own family just in the hope of going to japan one day and considers Goku to be on part with Jesus Christ and yet japan would consider him a subhuman because he watched dbz for free on his shitty cartel laptop.
Learn Japanese
t. thief
It's a sword that cuts both ways. You don't get to tell other markets to piss up a rope and then cry foul when they ignore you and do their own thing.
twitter screencap le bad
even though the topic is relevant
this triggers the jew
even though the topic is relevant
go back to Anon Babble
no argument

How is this bad? They are right, gatekeeping is a good thing. Westoids ruin any media they touch
receive no official product
advertise it to a large audience, at no cost to the creator
creator bitches
The fucking gall. In fact, they should pay ME for advertising it.
"If you read it, the author or the publisher will not be paid at all"
I already support reading it, you don't have to convince me further.
Japan is so centered on itself it has 0 patriotic sense outside their isolated island, they'd rather have no one loving the shit they create than having them enjoying it in ways that do not benefit them directly.
This is supossed to be bad?
All nations should do this
learn a dying language, that's socially irreverent outside their tiny bubble
kill yourself
I find it incredibly ironic that anons call Japanese retarded because their corporations do not endorse people illegally accessing their paid products for free, whether they were planning to sell it overseas or not. Do you expect the suits to bend over backwards and say it's okay for everyone outside Japan to pirate their shit? Get real.
still no argument
i win
Shueisha runs an app to legally read the most popular manga for free called Mangaplus internationally, it exists but has a different name in Japan
Or not
More native speakers than French or German
give away al your manga for free
people can pay for them if you feel like it
ingenious money making idea, shame the suits are too dumb to realise it
How does Anon Babble do it? Even with all its flaws, it still manages to maintain a level of quality far above the other media boards.
Grant me a way to support manga without going through jewish middlemen in the West like Tokyopop, Yen Press or J-novel and I would.
It's the isolationist mindset. Japs still feel comfy with their country right now so they act smug. But watch them beg for influence once their GDP standing gets surpassed by another country like India or Russia in the next few decades.
I mean, it's more complex than that, buddy. A website with ads might be more profitable than selling physical copies, and they aren't really redundant business, people will buy physical copies even if it's free online like merch.
The modern economy is very strange because on the one hand everything is becoming digital but on the other hand all media products are very efficiently pirated nowadays.
Last time I was reading scanlations, the guys chickened out after Kodansha started doing it officially, and then the official release wasn't available in my country.
I would download a car.
But their corporations do endorse people creating things for free. Look at the doujin market; it's 100% in violation of copyright laws, but everyone turns a blind eye because of the increased economic activity it generates.
Highjacking this thread to ask what's the current work around for the updated Amazon rips.
Newer ebooks don't work with the old Kindle version and ktf convert method
French has a bunch of africans and haitians speaking it. You could say japanese has more significant speakers than french or german.
Doujin are in a grey market just like fanart prints
It's the same classification of using movie clips for reviews online
ironic that japan was trying to conquer the world militarily back then, but now that they kinda did that culturally, they don't care lol.
Isn’t it the opposite? It’s more significant if a language is spoken in many countries, and irrelevant if it’s only spoken in 1
And scanlations are the same thing since they do not infringe upon the copyright holder's market, they drive traffic and therefore revenue towards the original product, and their very nature changes enough about the original work that it's now another person's interpretation of the work rather than the work itself.
This isn't a legal or ethical concern for the Japanese, it's pure cultural autism.
Let's stop reading Japanese manga and start reading Korean manhwa, webtoons, or Chinese manhua instead!
They've already surpassed Japanese manga anyway. Most Japanese manga these days are just boring.
You are both stupid, it's not about involvement, It's about influence.
France has been sucking off Japan for 40 years (if not 200) and there was never at any point a moment where France had their hands within the actual creation pipeline of japan apart from the 2 or 3 animators recently.
Still France just shit out Expedition 33, a game entirely made by a bunch of jrpg obsessed frogs which will probably grab this year's GOTY.
Japan could just look at Expedition 33 and think that it is their culture shining around the globe that allowed this game to even exist like any other normal country would, in a way those frogs had japan living rent free in their head while making the game.
However Japan, like the cuck nation it is, do not take any credit from that, it almost feels like they hate their own culture.
Westoids ruin any media they touch
Okay so first of all, the US* not the west.
The thing Japan's bigggest cultural imports WOULDN'T EXIST without the west. Their whole music culture was stolen from the US. Anime wouldn't exist without Disney. Japan has been the US bitch for 80 years but somehow it's a problem if the roles are reversed? Completely retarded.
start reading Korean manhwa, webtoons, or Chinese manhua instead!
korean manhwa
korean webtoons
gook stuff
They've already surpassed Japanese manga anyway
No
Are you shitposting right now? You realize there is a huge difference between a derivative work and someone directly posting their work? You also guess what get doujin authors dcmaing their translated doujin as well
No, but piracy should remain legally gray, and by that I mean tolerated and not persecuted like you are some kind of terrorist.
ANon, sincerely shut the fuck up. People like you are the ones who post pirate site names and links in a CrunchyRoll comment section then wonder why the pirate website in question got shut down or blatantly talk about pirate sites and scanlation groups out in the open where normalfags can see, how about instead of doing this retardation you just pirate the works and shut up about it like a normal person.
Ah yes, I do enjoy reading the exact same regression story 50 times and calling them good. I have a small penis, am on HRT, got plastic surgery to look more Japanese and am from Seoul by the way.
you think companies with dollars on the line dont already know about sites where copyrighted content is hosted? this is not a secret club you dork. THEY KNOW.
file deleted
not the thread
Let's hope scannylators take this as an official endorsement and make storytime threads on here their permanent new home so Anon Babble can die harder
This is why Japanese people hate westoids and don't want them reading their manga.
99% of those are brain damage inducing, and the only thing I can count in 1% is The Wicked by Inked Fishbone, which was only available on now defunct Bilibili comics, Gwichonri, which seems to be nearing its ending, and Detective vlog, a pretty good horror mystery, only that ended and for some reason the translator never posted the last 19 chapters.
Yeah, we know they know. They do nothing because the websites aren't causing problems or too well known, why do you think they took down places like KissAnime when the Netflix leak happened? Because they uploaded series that where months away from airing, they can take any of these websites down without a thought but choose not to unless the website gets too big, too known or does something extremely retarded.
Mangaplus
Yeah, but how many series does it have vs how many manga were purged? And it's the only official reader app that's usable and not cancerous.
If you don't own a single manga volume, your opinion doesn't matter. The truth is most of you faggots are retards that don't know how anything works and just want shit for free. Not that your entire argument has no merits or that the suits are right, I just don't like listening to entitled uneducated fucks like OP.
lets consoom derivative artwork with the same plot and story rehashed in slighty different settings 1000 times
lets not
However Japan, like the cuck nation it is, do not take any credit from that
How should they take credit for that? By obnoxiously reminding people that They inspired the game on twitter 24/7?
Korean Manhwa
Funny how Gookshills are jumping on this Anti piracy thing to shit on the Nips when Kakao fucked over Tachiyomi one year ago
I legally owned a bunch of Manga And older Manhwa, which means that I have more contribution towards Manhwa industry than probably any of the shills
He thinks every manga should have translations released for free just because it's done for one magazine even if the rest don't even get one percent of the audience Jump has.
So when are we starting our own site with no gookshit or spic TLs?
Maybe instead of whining how something is not available and using it as an excuse for piracy you should read and support the ones that are available. That should be a bigger incentive to license further content than increased piracy.
Or learn the language it's published in. It's not the authors or publishers' fault you can't read.
