I’m actually surprised they went full on romance during the second half of the show. It’d be a different story if they kept Judy’s age as it is from the book, but I do have mixed feelings about the romance. Age-gap aside, the guy supported Judy until he realized he didn’t want to let her ago. I would’ve loved for Judy to wrestle with him more and fought for her independence. They could’ve done better with the romance to be honest.

I think it didn’t help that the Daddy conflict eventually overlapped with the romance subplot, which made Judy forget about her beef with Daddy. How I wish she said NO to Daddy after their first fight. On the other hand, I love Judy’s mature look later in the show.
