Asa is such a weird character to me because it feels like everything was in place to give us an incredibly entertaining and gripping narrative surrounding her, but she ended up being sidelined and lobotomized into a character I barely recognise or care about. OK, thats enough whining! I'll try to give you my perspective on Asa and if you have a different take, please feel free to share.

A big problem I have is that so many moments with Asa feel like they exist in a vacuum. For example, when Asa and Denji meet each other for the first time on the school rooftop. Denji reveals hes Chainsawman, and Asa absolutely destroys him verbally, calls him a loser and walks away. This scene is fucking hilarious, and it felt like the perfect moment for the story to call back on! Yoru also gets super upset when Asa calls her dumb for believing Denji which is never brought up again when she DOES find out CSM's real identity.

Or how about the fact that when Yuko died to FakeCSM, she's just deleted from the fucking manga. Asa never mentions her again, she still doesnt know Yuko's status nor is there any concern shown. Its like Yuko simply existed to pass on her philosophy to Asa("Even if my actions turn out to be a mistake, if my hearts in the right place thats all that matters") and then its just BANG YOU'RE OUT. This might be incredibly nitpicky to some but it bothers me that Asa just forgets about the first friend she had at school.
