Might be closer in function to a scoliosis brace compared to what a corset does to your posture. Constant weight causes imbalanced musculature (tight frontand looser/weaker shoulders) so beyond strengthening that weaker side through exercise you also need to prevent further hunching which a brace helps counteract. I don't know if this is a real medical device though.

It's been a while. Problem is, it feels like it'll happen, but by the time it does nobody will care. The manga progresses too slow.
The problem is that even if they'll be in a chapter together again it will only serve as a framing device for another volley-bu-chan story like it was with the school trip. Their relationship got reduced to just being fellow commuters.

Well yes that's the current status of their relationship just being commute buddies. My assumption is that their relationship progresses slowly throughout the entire manga, but by chapter 150+ or something we get small hints of something platonic going on. No high-schooler Ai-chan being a sex demon on Onii-san because clearly Tawawa is no longer about that and you and I know that (RIP). Also it'll be for the sake of having gags about Volleyball feeling netorare'd by her uncle. Again the manga progresses so slow that it's hard to predict if the author even intends to feature all of the remaining major Tawawas (Sada, Stepsister, Twins, Gourmet, Oujou/Ouji, Esper, Alien, Boss, Imouto, etc.) and take years, if not one or two decades doing so while also developing Ai-chan x Onii-san in the process. Sounds boring as fuck to wait that long.
The manga will never have them get in a relationship dude. It's had 118 chapters to do so, another 32 chapters or more isn't going to do anything. It's just status quo, episodic slop that has no bearing on any story whatsoever with no real stakes or developments. All the main girls that have been reimagined (terribly) have had basically all their arcs wrapped up instantly, before Ai's mind you, even though it was the other way around in canon. Just give it up, the manga is for endless dyke slop and gags that go nowhere.

Cheer-chan and Baseball almost fucked and are on the verge of starting to date (they're no longer the main focus sure, but their first arc isn't completed). Hokuro arc is progressing.
Was Ai-chan demoted to Kouhai levels of progression? Afraid so. But if the manga is meant to last, that just means Ai-chan and Kouhai will be the stretched-throughout-the-manga stories.
Is everything above more tame than twitter and takes years to progress because of the long breaks, and random SoL chapters? Yes. Slow as fuck manga.
If the manga is meant to last or at minimum adapt Maegami baby, then a few years of in-universe time progression are guaranteed which means Ai graduates.
Major in the sense that they were featured at some point and had a story (Sada, Oujou/Ouji, Stepsister, Twins, Gourmet), or are in the process of that (Esper, Alien, Boss, Imouto (?))
