It's not really that uncertain. I used to have trouble getting people to read the uploads on Mangadex because most were using aggregators who mirorred our releases anyway. I just got perms to upload on Comick in case one of my manga gets hit in the next MD wave, but young zoomers and gen alpha were never on MD in the first place. So it's the older readers who already know how to search for other aggregators who'll need to relocate, which is a nonissue. The only thing that's a shame is that MD was the only site that wasn't trying to monetize scans and actually linked to all the official buying channels.
Mangadex forums weren't exactly a paradise of intelligent conversation, but holy shit the comment sections on Comick and other aggregators are a thousand times worse.

You can post on mangadex fine if you just use a vpn and a throw away mail account. Proton VPN is probably the best one that's free. Just don't use that account with mangadex without vpn, because there's a big chance they'll give your personal info, mail, and IP address to the industry if they asks.
The founder and owner is very against for profit groups on mangadex. They also more or less banned the coin based paywalls groups on mangadex and have removed three of them.

It was Kakao together with all the big Japanese publishers. Afaik it was shueisha, kodansha, shogakukan, kadokawa, futabasha, and square enix. Notable that Houbunsha didn't participate.
MTL is unironically fairly good at translating dialects. Probably because they're just translating dialects to normal Japanese and translating it to English from there. If you ask to break down the sentences, chatgpt usually also explains how the dialect works.
The nice thing about having releases on discord like this is that you finally get a lot of people to join your discord.

I wish forums were still a thing. Discord just encourages brainless chatter and only the young members with too much time on thejr hands are the ones constantly posting shit. It's not even his for discussions of the releases because of how fast discussions come and go.

I put up an XDCC bot years ago and do a bi-yearly .torrent release with volumes/chapters in .cbz format. The faggots sharing American capeshit have been operating on an aging p2p network for years. USENET still exists too. No one bothers us and we wouldn't have to abide by DMCAs even if they did because there is nothing they can do about it. The industry in Japan is never going to praise you for re-uploading their work translated or otherwise. The mangakas are beholden to the publishers for their cash in-flow. They're going to do as they're told for fame and (not much) money.

By the way. Mangadex is operating illegally and can be taken down at any time because they're in violation of the Xenforo license agreement. Which states that their software can't be used to distro pirated material. Anyone that wants to ruin their day only needs to fire off an e-mail to Xenforo's legal department. They will swiftly revoke their license and contact their hosting provider to have the site taken down. Those assholes have been doing that for decades (they're the same people that made vBulletin).
