I think the most importang distinction between the two is that WfM is directed like a normal anime which shows everything at face value and makes it safe and predictable and becomes more of a vehicle to deliver you action, gunpla and yuri.
Gqux in comparison has its own distinct flavor and atmosphere and keeps its cards hidden, which makes things unpredictable and interesting. But it also requires the viewer to interpret ambiguous situations which leaves some people not understanding what happened or thinking nothing happened if they don't engage with it.

The OYW was a complete utter chaotic shit show that caused billions of deaths. Outside of random stragglers here and there on earth and in space. It was known that a fleet sized force of Gihren loyalists withdrew from the Battle of A Baoa Quo and the status of the fortress Axis was unknown.
0083 should have featured Titans from the start in their smaller form, factionalism and rivalry with the regular EFSF.

And then you have Captain Bright looking at the sheer stupidity of dropping Solomon at the moon being a possibility.

People just don't get it, they should look at the characters, it's a character driven story.
