Deca-Dence was solid and it ended after a quick 12 episodes then it was forgotten forever. Everything has to be ongoing perpetually nowadays if you want to make money off it.
Well then go for finished anime duh.
Either look up things have multiple seasons and check if it covers the whole story like Assassination Classroom, or go for original works like Zenshu or check the announcements, for example "Kowloon generic romance" will start and end, Summer Pockets is gonna be 2 cours and I GUESS that it should cover the whole thing.

Same here. Doesn't help that most anime don't get a second season to get anything finished. I've only seen, like, 1 isekai anime where they actually defeat the demon lord and that was in Cautious Hero. Yet even THEN the ending was all "Okay now you need to go to another world again" at the end. Like God damn.

it turned me off when the ugly phantasy characters appeared. i could mayybe try to watch it. is just that i was kinda expecting something like Recovery of a MMO junkie

I fully embraced the anime to unfinished manga/LN pipeline. honestly I like it more when the series is still ongoing, it sorta gives meaning to my life so I can look forward to things that I like.

Worst part is when the manga isn't even close to being done. Helck ended up great because I could breeze through the whole manga in a few evenings and get to a conclusion, but other series? They just don't want to fucking end.

It's mostly adaptations these days and manga/ln authors stall their shit forever for a stable paycheck.
