For me I think it's nostalgia, cause isekai can have some really creative concepts while battle harems are more restricitive, but you can't go wrong with a by the books battle harem once in a while, that's why people liked the ice blade Ordinary one a few seasons ago

I used to like harem a lot but not that much nowdays.

Probably because now it is in combination of isekai, and despite not having anything against it conceptually in this kind of shows girls take way too little focus, and there is way to little ecchi and missunderstandings.

School battle harem hat lot more of that stuff. In those isekai shows most part of the time is screen stats and mc being awesome, the girls have really small time to shine
