Neji's death happened only and ONLY because Kishimoto wanted to do the cool full-page spread of all Konoha kids standing each in tail of giant Kurama but he had 10 kids and 9 tails so he needed to kill off one kid. There's no deep story implication coming from the fact that it was Neji. It could be Kiba or Shino and things would be literally the same.

Regeneration is the worst ability for your antagonists to have, since it rarely leads to the end result being something aside from “just hit them hard enough”. Ending it at Guy beating Madara kind of just leaves you wondering what the theme is, when the people that don’t know each other resolve the generational blood feud.

he likes Itachi and Jiraiya and there's a reason they had to die. the only reason I see is that Guy isn't from the Senju or Uchiha special lineage so he can't have a memorable ending. Asuma got an emotional death and Shikamaru an arc because Kishimoto likes them. He doesn't care about Lee and Guy and stated in interviews that he doesn't understand why people like them. they were his editor's creations and that's why Lee never gets another arc after the fight with Gaara

Itachi killed hundreds and tortured Sasuke and Kakashi and the narrative acts like it's Danzo's fault. you think Neji dying against a guy who "kidnapped" Sasuke would make people think Sasuke shouldn't be redeemed? most people think he and Naruto went too far when he was forgiven by saying sorry anyway.
