Stupid ant
Stupid ant
Humans are evil.
I would never hurt even an ant. As a kid, I was digging around in some anthills, but that was out of curiosity, not with the intend to cause harm.
I used to eat ants when I was a kid.
is she ok?
Same.
Now we both here.
I remember capturing ants as a kid and throwing them on a spider web, watching how they got eaten by spiders. Not that I was a psychopath—I just really liked spiders in general
I always step over the ants outside. They are just going about their business. Not really fair to hurt them.
Unless they are fire ants, fuck those biting faggots.
I remember as a kid this little asian boy was fucking with ants on a playground and I physically intimidated him into stopping. Ants are bros.
Ants can’t drown thanks to the water’s surface tension.

This artist's drawings make me upset
NOOOOOOO!
Ants BTFO
When I was young I saw my friend cut an ant's legs, head and body separately and had a "collection" of them. Messed up shit.
I love them so much.
Fat ant.
This artist's drawings are really cute, but I genuinely feel bad for what happens to these bugs.
Something about the subtle actions and expressions.
It’s because they always look like they’ll burst into tears.
I once drowned an entire ant nest, but i think it fucked me up a little bit.
While i was filling their caves with water and ant corpses were starting to pour out, i noticed that some of the ones that were still alive had white things in their mouths.
It was their larvae.
They were trying to keep their children alive, trying to avoid getting them to drown, even if it meant they would be getting drown.
Several of these ants were doing the same.
They were willing to sacrifice themselves for their young.
After that, i started to learn about them for a bit of curiosity.
They are one of the few species of insects to have proper infrastructure.
Turns out they were practicing agriculture using fungi forever, probably even before humans found out about it.
I feel a bit bad anons. In a weird sense, they are just tiny people always on the lookout for fertilizer.
:(
I've had the same thoughts as you on multiple occasions, usually my empathy for them evaporated quickly when I have to clean them away from the kitchen. How the hell do they send an entire army to my sink when the dishes have only been there for maybe 4 hrs?
Post the cockroach.
I did that too. Some ants taste awful, but occasionally you get a sweet one. I don't know why I did it and how long I did it for.
I do remember eating sugar ants.
Are you the ant bully?
false, they drown super hard because of surface tension
it's like a human getting a steel net thrown on them, they can't escape
"their" young
workers are like body cells of the queen
Yeah, I avoid killing bugs as much as possible unless they're
flies that insist on constantly buzzing around me
spiders (sometimes I leave them alone if they're small and seem to have no intention of bothering me)
wasps/hornets
Worms, beetles, ants, etc I step over and avoid.
>spiders (sometimes I leave them alone if they're small and seem to have no intention of bothering me)
Spiders actively avoid confrontation with bigger species, because the venom they use to defend themselves is the same venom used to kill their food. So if they use the venom for defensive purposes, they risk dying of hunger, because they cant hunt until they make enough venom again. That doesnt imply lowering your awareness of them, as some smol species can be really dangerous.
I have literally had a spider drop on me from the ceiling while I was sleeping. Those bastards can die.
tfw killed a spider on my walls yesterday
I'm sorry Anon Babble, I didn't know better
yeah me too.
yeah and i did that too and i observed the same thing and kept doing it without compunction. they're pests. let their young die with them. they would wipe us out and have us carrying out babies out of out homes if it were convenient to do so. they are alike to us not only in their compassion for their own but in their cruelty to outsiders as well.
they would wipe us out and have us carrying out babies out of out homes if it were convenient to do so
If you believe that is wrong of them, how is it right for us to do the same?
If you do not believe it is wrong of them, what does it matter?
ants are respectable. roaches are not
it is not an issue of wrong or right. the deer struggles against the wolf, not for wrong or right, but for the weal of one vs. the weal of the other. we have our spaces and we keep our resources in them creatures that enter our spaces and pilfer our resources are, to us, pests. all creatures work to keep their pests without their homes and bodies.
Now post the cockroaches
I did the same thing one summer. I felt bad that there were no bugs in its web and there was an ant hill nearby
Ants are actually really good for decomposing stuff and helping out the soil through aeration.
Indoors, if you see an ant trail, then that's 100% your fault. If nothing else, they lead to food that your blind unhygienic slob of an ass missed or didn't clean up properly. So get to fucking cleaning already you lazy bum.
Cockroaches can go to hell though. They don't do shit that other insects/animal already do just as well or better. And they manage to do all of that without being as much of a nuisance as Cockroaches.
I hate this artist so much because it makes me feel bad for the little bugs one time i was standing on a side walk and kicked a unsuspecting fly that fell on a puddle, i watched it struggle for it's life, the fly managed to get out, climbed up the side walk and when it reached the top i kicked it again but this time the fly didn't made it and drowned, a while later i saw a comic by this guy, remembered the fly and felt guilty for what i did, the fly pretty much did what this ant in the comic did
These bugs man.
Why can't real bugs be this cute?
Ants and other social insects ready to die for their young because that's what biology tell them to do. Most animals want to survive to pass on their genes. Queen insect exploit this because the offspring the the queen always carry more of the queen genes than the offspring make by the workers, thus workers are biology hardwire to serve the queen and ensure the survival of the queen's offspring as it's the most optimal way for them to pass on the most amount of genes.
Because we would fuck them if they were. Fuck bees!
Weak ants, a single ant lifts anything till 30x their weight
Why does he draw them crying so much.
An ant weighs 1-5 miligrams, there's 1000 miligrams in a gram.
I dunno.
Cause they live in a world where there's countless of them but they're still at the bottom of the pecking order.
Rajeesh-kun...
Its cool, ants can survive for up to 24 hours and cant drown easily
The star of the show.
Many creatures are, don't you know that wolves and many other predators like to play by torturing their prey?
:(
Honestly, the only way to end the cycle of suffering would be to destroy all life, not just humanity. People are deluded into thinking that it's only humans who are the problem, but if you actually knew nature and history you'd know that all of nature can be a constant torture filled with suffering, the only way to end it would be to end all life.
Legitimately the cutest character design.
Is it just me who almost feels worse watching bugs slowly die when I remind myself that they likely don't comprehend pain in a similar way? It almost feels worse to watch because they just want to continue doing their job (surviving) but are slowly moving down the path towards destruction. It reminds of this story about a mummified hunting dog being found in the top of a tree (theorized to have climbed up there and gotten stuck). Obviously, a dog is a lot more emotional and there was probably a lot of suffering involved for it, especially if it missed its owner. The part that really made it sad for me though was looking at the dog and seeing how tough it must've looked while alive. To imagine such a strong, top of the food chain thing, getting disgraced and ended in such a way is horrible. I guess it is just painful to watch success turn into annihilation.
Same, although my rules are a bit different.
I have a 6' rule. If they stay at least that far away from me and leave me alone, then I have no problem with them. Wasps/hornets die because they are always assholes. Flys, gnats, and mosquitoes fall under the asshole category. Another exception is a bug that is a health hazard like roaches or bed bugs. I've had the former once in a falling apartment and never the later.
It's the same thing with yukkuris or moe anime girls being tortured in general. These sorts of moe faces are designed to invoke feelings of protectiveness because of their baby-like features, so seeing them suffer naturally makes the average person upset.
Don't stress too much about it, anon. They're not sentient, they don't have hopes or dreams, they don't have ambitions, they don't reason or plan for the future. Their behavior is just hardwired response to pheromones paired with the tendency of large systems towards self-organization. You can squash them guilt-free.
