Being a government lapdog = real hero

its the only thing MHA that is actually good.

It's same for Invincible series

Why did Decuck never helped out in his neighborhood unlike Koichi?

He was Quirkless, please understand.

What was Knuckleduster quirk? Unlike the other two his flew over my head, surely it is not punch harder.

He's a selfish cunt

it wasn't revealed yet
wait for the second episode

Wait for the reveal.

Quirkless
Spineless
Not a hero in deeds or philosophy (hurr my name is Deku and I'll only take being a hero seriously when I get a quirk/ironman suit handed down to me free of charge and without doing anything)
Completely worthless protagonist.

I can't remember when I started hating Deku, but I did like him during the school tournament arc where he used his brains and strategy with friends to advance.

Waiting for the real heroes the sturm und drang bros.

Because Deku never wanted to be a hero, he wanted to be THE hero. It's narcissism.

deku is also glazed like this

so I guess rules of play is just plain posting unmarked spoilers

Nobody cares.

NTA, but it's not like thumbnails are readable anyway.

You know, anime nowadays has a lot of implied rape scenes. Dandadan has a ton of them, Kusuriya had one scene recently, and now this. I like it, it raises the stakes instantly better than any other villainous setup, and it's also hot.

I feel like Pop-Step's censorship is gonna be annoying. Just let her show off her ass, Jesus fucking Christ, that's what her costume was designed to do.

her skirt hanging halfway down her ass is slutty in its own way

It's so funny that they managed to find a guy with an even sissier voice than Deku to voice the MC

being a government lapdog

It's not really that though, is it?
I mean, if they were all working for the government they wouldn't need to be creating agencies for themselves to get any business and sponsorships.
In that manner being a hero is more like being a responsible car owner. You go get yourself a license and a car and get it registered and that's basically all she wrote as far as the government is concerned.

Official heroes do need to fill out a ton of paperwork though so they are more like government contractors.

Bones couldn't have at least taken enough creative liberty to give her a navel window to compensate for the lack of butt and boob window

a skirt that low

It's not official, right? What kind of deviant designed this?

sadly the navel window is AI

More like Pop SEX

Well it’s realistic usually, especially in those contexts

Horikoshi is a right-winger. Reminder that he shills for the Japanese empire

Pop Step's dance in the OP is very very cute.

I think it's funny that they fixed the flub with Inko being fat when she shouldn't have been that was in the manga

You have conflicting views and it already gave you the premise, won't be any more different than that.

Let me know when Stain gets animated. He is the only based character in this shitty series besides roflmillion

He might happen midway this season. Though there are plenty of better characters that are original to Vigilante in my opinion.

anime nowadays has a lot of implied rape scenes

Now

How long have you been watching anime?

The question then becomes why should anyone give this a try when MHA showed promise and flopped hard. I liked MHA until he fought gentle criminal and Decuck hacked his way through the fight. It ideologically proved that OP quirks outshines hard work and strategy.
What does Vigilante that the main series doesnt.

What does Vigilante that the main series doesnt.

Daily life and small scale neighbourhood fights

This series is closer to a Spiderman comic than whatever MHA turned into. Koichi is shit at first and slowly work himself up to be any good, and actually has to relearn his quirk since the lack of use in daily life pretty much stunted him (alongside spoilers)
Knuckleduster remains an MVP for a huge chunk of the series despite relying on little less than experience, drugs and training.
The villain is really fun, and a bastard at that.
The side characters get plenty of time to shine, especially Captain Celebrity, who'll actually feature this season (though I don't know if they'll finish his story)
Basically, this is not a regular shounen manga, it's more like a spiderman "neighborhood hero" story turned into a manga/anime.

Also there are way more characters in the caliber of Gentle in this manga, and more fights that lean that way too. Especially since the real "OP shit" only really rears its head toward the end when we've got some time skips and a few years of experience for the characters. It's pretty much reserved for the climax.

Ok thank you. Ill give it a watch.

The question then becomes why should anyone give this a try when MHA showed promise and flopped hard.

because it's by a different author
it may or may not turn out to be to your liking, but it does have its own tone

Well, you'll see if you like it or not, I don't think it has universal appeal but it's significantly more brainy all over in my opinion. And the authors take care to actually give you a person's view of the way society works (and doesn't work) with the superpowers. They even show some characters trying to start businesses despite having to live fucked up lives due to mutations and shit.

I swear I forgot that Six got an appearance as early as he does in the anime. Cool though.

What does on behind the curtains?

pop.jpg - 1920x1080, 263.57K

One of my favorite porn tropes.

I was at least partially right, Six not only wasn't dressed like he is in the anime (maybe it wasn't supposed to be him), and he didn't have the iconic scar in this scene. No wonder I didn't remember it.

The suit thing would have been fine if it was presented as being like a prototype for equipment to be produced en masse for law enforcement, to allow more people to be a “hero” if they want to be, with Deku pioneering it.

>being a government lapdog = real hero

Yes, if the government is good. A concept too alien for Americans to understand

Knuckleduster has a lot of good lines, he's pretty much uncompromising.

Are you kidding anon? American's are waaaaaaay more skeptical of the goverment nowadays than the Japanese are.

I think you misunderstood his post.

I am going on there.

You're right, I am retarded, though I blame the English language for its retarded ambiguity.

Leggings >>>>>> No Leggings

How much screentime does this cutie get? This dictates whether or not I watch this.

Finally, someone with a good opinion.
All this complaining is "Sonic's arms" tier.

RapeCHADS? Where is the rain? Where is the undressing? Even sam raining could do better in fricking 2002

She's one of the core 3 protagonists

She's really present, but she's not an action hero. It's Koichi, Knuckleduster and Captain Celebrity who tend to get that opportunity, alongside the MHA originals (particularly Aizawa)
Midnight also gets to do some actual hero work in this.

It keeps the stakes appropriately small. And has way better characterization on the protagonist, mentor and the main villain compared to the main series.

Are there any rape scenes later on in the manga? May read it if yes

Sort of, at least main girl abuse.

This series got tainted once it got filled with MHA haters making every discussion just a pissing contest.

MHA would've been better if for the first 100chappies deku didn't have OFA and instead awakened a lowgrade quirk a year before the entrance exams and then got OfA after the sports festival arc after losing but in a way that showcased his determination enough to make AM pick him as the inheritor.

Just sounds like a longer way to trick you into accepting he got a strong quirk. Also it would be just repeating the same tired "You actually had ____ all along!" trope every series with a no ability protagonist starts off with.

I wonder how normalfags will react to this guy actually trying to make up for what he did.

It's nice to see Pop-Step finally get some recognition. She went entirely unnoticed by the fanbase before, and I hate that because her design is lovely.

About as well as Endeavor.

They're getting a different design.

This one pretty much just has a lower skirt and tights, which is fine honestly

Giving her pantyhose is not something I can be salty over, it's sexy.

Bare skin is way hotter, in regards to the overall outfit

It's a buildup that'd make it feel way more deserved. As is he just gets top1 power in chapter 2.

If you ignore the fact that he couldn't properly use that power until dozens of chapters later, and even then at a vastly reduced effectiveness.

By far

I rarely watch battleshounens but I'm getting the feeling that this show is going to be great judging from that first episode.

it raises the stakes

I agree.
God, she's hot.

Do we have an idea how much of the story the anime is going to adapt?

Apparently it'll be 13 episodes. If this first episode got a little into ch2 then we might get 3 or 4 volumes, not really sure

ending on mall show / family fight

might be a divisive choice

Since this is MHA they'll probably push for a 2nd season even if it ends there.
In general, the story fitting in 3 cours is kind of what I was predicting when I speculated on the anime way back.

Just listened to the OP, it sucks ass

i thought it was okay, definitely not my type of OP though
Visuals were fine on the other hand, ED is kind of nice.

gonna be a split cour with 13 episodes now, and another 13 episodes after the MHA final season ends. not sure if they confirmed if they're gonna cover all of the Vigs story in those 26 episodes but I doubt it

Covering up to the Sky Egg would probably work out just fine. An S2 if they're doing 2 cours now should be able to cover the final arc with little issue.

look guys I'm retarded and have shit taste!!

Dumbass

Sorry for dogging in on MHA vs Vigs but its interesting how much better developed the character are due to a much smaller cast.
In MHA proper everyone gets sidelined as their dedicated gimmick for the most part, but in vigs you get a lot of multifaceted individuals.

Koichi is a dreamer who's grown up dipping back into youthful idealism, Kazuho is an overall shy and emotionally constrained girl who uses idol culture as her release valve for that stuff etc.

If they were in a cast of 20 i feel like all you'd see is gags about Koichi being a wagie and Kazuho being a tsundere.
Given these still happen but the ratio of them to genuine character moments is way better than what it was in MHA where half the cast doesnt even do anything

You guys said Koichi was based but first episode was total betamax.

But muh Deku

So? Deku being a sissy doesn't mean Koichi ISN'T a sissy, too and even fucking Deku wouldn't have tried to sneak away while batgirl was getting gangbanged.

Koichi at this point is just a civvie. He grows much more confident as the story goes on, but even here he takes the initiative, doesnt give up on doing good when it becomes inconvenient and has his life more or less figured out. I wouldnt compare the two since he's a young adult and Deku is straight up a child

Sorry for dogging in on MHA vs Vigs

No you're not.

Until Pop cucks him into being a pacifist for no damn reason.

I mean he did give up on doing good until a giant schizo fell out of the sky

No he hasnt. He's doing charity every evening. This being the sole reason behind their meeting.

That's only pretty much once at the end, and when he breaks that subconscious limiter it's really really nice.

I was talking about the virgin walk away during the gangbang.

She's 14 and doesn't want her friend to engage in fights with lethal stakes. That's imo a way better way to go about it as opposed to MHA where adults are just cool with sending kids to an all out war.

He already charged at them when he was alone, that's why Knuckleduster even calls him good hero material.

She's 14 and doesn't want her friend to engage in fights with lethal stakes.

And a whole bunch of people almost died because Koichi didn't take out 6 sooner.

He literally changed his mind as he was doing it. If anything it proves the opposite, since he couldn't bear what he saw despite trying to stay clear.

He probably was scrolling tiktok while "watching", don't bother

where adults are just cool with sending kids to an all out war.

I know it's a shonen so they have to do it, but it still felt icky desu.
Mostly because the setting is a close analog to ours. If it were something more abstract you could easiy accept that oh, it's just a world where kids wage war.

That's kind of my issue with main MHA for a bit, I liked Ida's character arc at first but he just drops off almost completely after Stain when realistically that arc should've just made him more interesting.
In vigilante even the background characters like the mantis guy gets his moments, and Ingenium himself feels more present than Ida does in MHA most of the time.

if you had to down-size class A to just 6 people who would your picks be aside from Ochako - Deku - Kacchan who kinda have to be there.

I feel like Todoroki would almost work better if he was from another class or something. So weird that the school setting never made use of the fact that he has an extended family too. Feels like a wasted story potential.,

my fuwarking burger!

HID from AFO

Nah

start of his arc: "Fuck off, I miss All Might..."

when the tower: "MY FUARKING HERO"

Perfectly honest, Hori has not made enough of Class 1-A interesting enough for me to think a lot of them would be worth keeping. Like having them as background characters and giving them some snippets is fine, but the story we already have was juggling them like crazy.
For a good amount of potential, I'd do something like

Locks: Ida, Midoriya, Ochako, Bakugo

Have potential: Asui/Shoji/Fumikage for letting us delve into mutants and their struggles, though Asui would probably make the cut if WSJ were choosing because need more lead girls

Shove in from other classes: Shinso (only after the tournament), Monoma (would make a great antagonist-style character within the school setting, plus he's even flexible in fights)

The rest can still stay, but I don't want them to occupy a ton of screen time.

He literally hid from most important fight in history

Vigilante needs its own You say run/Trinity for the hype scenes

I NEED PICTURES
PICTURES OF COCKROACHMAN!

Oh and Todoroki would also work, but I kind of agree with you that he'd work better in another class.
All in all, it's a question of whether you want it to focus more on the school or being about fighting villains or not that decides where you go with this stuff.
After getting familiar with HnK, I feel that a cast of like 10 characters that aren't necessarily villains can work in a setting, but you have to put them from and center with one or two other characters, not dilute them in a crowd of 20 for most of the time.

all the guys.png - 1572x1667, 3.49M

Todoroki lost all credibility the moment he lost to Bakugo. Also when I stopped watching.

That moment where he knows he's not going to make it out alive, and he starts praying not for his own life, but for Koichi to be saved instead of him

Captain Celebrity is so fucking good, probably my 2nd favorite character in Vigs after Koichi

I mean they sent the strongest hero in the US and she dies immediately, at some point you've gotta call it quits. Besides, weren't villains running amok all over the world when AfO was doing his thing?

Yes

Pretty sure it was around the time him and bakugo "fought" and instead of confronting him about what the fuck is his problem, he did the usual "but kaachan" dick sucking and let himself get beaten by him

I mean they sent the strongest hero in the US and she dies immediately, at some point you've gotta call it quits.

But AFO was still beaten by mainline characters. So he looks weak and cowardly. Who cares if Star and Stripe lost. You don't run and hide. Weak.

Yeah I think another weakness in main MHA is that it beats around the bush with shit like that too often. Like even in the fight with Deku where Todoroki goes all out for once he immediately gives in just to lose to Bakugo. I feel like it'd be a much better show of Todoroki's growth if he actually learnt something in the time between those two matches, it should've been plenty to reflect since he already broke his norms.

You type like a huge faggot. Seriously like an enormous fag.

Just once I'd like a Vigs thread that isn't actually a MHA griefing thread.

Author should've made his own hero story instead of latching to MHA then. What do you expect.

He can't exactly throw himself at AfO from across the ocean if he's busy rounding up villains either.
I did kind of want Koichi to show up to it but the fight at the end was already stacked with characters and there'd be no time to introduce him to the main readerbase.

let himself get beaten by him

He didn't let himself get beat. He lost, which contradicted Bakugo's worldview that he failed because he was weaker than Deku.
The whole point Todoroki lost against Bakugo was because he wasn't just suddenly over his physiological barriers, and had to actually face his mom and dad to get there.

Another Hori Koichi

Those times are over anon.

It's too bad she's a whore

The whole point Todoroki lost against Bakugo was because he wasn't just suddenly over his physiological barriers, and had to actually face his mom and dad to get there.

No, the reason he lost was to glaze Bakugo. It was fucking retarded and what made me drop MHA.

It still amazes me how hard Hori kept trying to force Bakugo into the limelight

For me, it's Naomasa's sister

How is it glazing Bakugo by him only winning because Todoroki gave up?

gob.jpg - 319x197, 27.97K

Wouldve worked if he had an arc. As is he just learns to bully people into cooperating with him.

He shouldve had the classic arc where he gets mogged in hero work/school stuff because of his antisocial nature and then learns not to be retarded. The screaming gets old fairly quickly.

Because he still won.

B... but he isn't satisfied with it!

That's a retarded excuse.

Actually yeah, that was the moment I stopped liking MHA.

I don't think you know what glazing means.

Yeah, I think he never has enough time dedicated to him squarely for an arc for that change to really be felt. It's like it just drip feeds constantly but dissipates before the next drip, so you don't really notice it after it's done.

Yeah I was hoping it would be different for the anime but I guess not. I'll just watch on my own.

I really like the thicker outlines the characters have.

Predictably a ton of the discussion on Shitter about this is about Koichi not instantly jumping into action against the guys who already beat the fuck out of him earlier that day, but then doing it anyway when reality set in.

Does Deku 2.0 cry a lot? I'm tired of weak ass MCs.

I can't recall if he cries so not really. He's a little cowardly at the start but Knuckleduster is often there to straighten him out, then toward the mid point he's deliberately placing himself in the middle of catastrophes so people have a chance.

No, but he's also not as much of a fighter. At least for a while.

I think he cries once, but I can't remember when so I might be bullshiting you.

you only have yourself to blame for not reading better J-capeshit

ryumon.png - 1200x1696, 852.03K

One of these days I'll have to read from where season one left off.

He only really falters early on, later he's more willing to hold his own if need be. Or even start a deadly fight if bringing the actual heroes wont work out (due to lack of time or such), no crying over that.

thats still cucked as hell

I remember back when the backstory of Koichi was shown where he saves Pop and in recounting the memory he thinks the person he saved was a boy because Pop had short hair, then at the end of the chapter she is back at her room with the hoodie going "I am not a boy" revealing it was her. Where I am leading with this is I recall seeing lots of people making Pop=transsexual theories and posts on various places and I wonder if said thing will happen again with the anime

good homelander is such a lad, can't for him to show up
