Honestly, her show is forgotten because it destroyed the big fairytale romance setting under the pretentiousness and perversions of its creators.
Papa was simply going to be the prince of the picture book and episode 13 was the episode that revealed glimpses of him, the klaxosapiens, and Virm/demons before they were retconned for yet another stupid “aliens” plotline that was highly inappropriate for the show.that was supposed to be an earth-centered conflict.
The main reason why One Piece is one of the few anime franchises that are good is simply because its creator doesn’t glorify modern Japan and he’s actually interested in making a huge world that has an actual history behind it. This dumb anime glorified a bunch of 14 year olds and acted like they were the best thing ever simply for existing. It scrapped all the old characters and any side-characters that dare to stand out from Squad 13 just to make that batch of losers look better.
They retconned Papa from having any sense of humanity and love for the Nines when the stupid joke comic points out Papa’s mixed feelings about the plantation kids he indirectly raised, and him being manipulated by his vice-chairman to do the evil things he does in the show. They also retconned away 001’s humanity, mercy, and any of her implied uplifting views of humans. Which also destroyed Virm’s desires to take the place of humans, which was why 001 mocks them as “human wannabes”, they’re illegitimate supernatural rulers of earth.
And it makes me so angry that this dumb anime justifies Zero Two’s self-destructive views that suicide is treated as the only pathway for her to have humanity.

It’s not even that. It has too many fairy tale elements. Papa was supposed to be a lot more like Zero Two, potentially physically too. His hatred for Klaxosaurs are private and personal, and it wouldn’t be surprising that originally he would have been unmasked to be a wrathful red Klaxosapien. Obsessed with preserving humanity from the “disease” Hiro is clearly infected with.
But since they scrapped the Dino-aids issues that would realistically create a paranoid post-pandemic hazard-suit society, nothing Papa and the adults do makes any sense. If Papa was actually meant to be this advanced alien thing since day 1, he would simply make a human meat suit thing to blend in, like the picture book implies Virm is capable of doing (turning into a human witch to manipulate the beast/klaxosaur princess, a snake to poison the prince).
Because they retcon the Dino-aids plotline, nothing makes any sense. There is no rhyme and reason for this stupid Universe except make Squad 13 look better than anyone else. There used to be a rhyme and reason for things in episode 13’s picture book and Hiro’s infection, and those elements are purposely made irrelevant because they break this stupid post-retconned story the crappy manga wants to double-down.
Because the one who made the picture book is the disguised Klaxosaur Princess we finally fully see in episode 16.
This could’ve been a great show but its creators were too fond of jap school fantasies to embrace any of the elements that are heavily reflected and even referenced in the soundtrack of this show and its art direction. And how do I know, because their little alternate universe within Franxx takes place at jap high school days. I hate it so much! They killed their show and thrown away any of the adults for more lame high-school soap opera dramas. You know why? Because Hiro and 02 didn’t function that way, so it’s time to replace them with losers who actually do.

Literally the only good elements that appear from Franxx come from ignoring NGE and any stupid trigger materials because they fundamentally ruin the basics of Zero Two and every character who is supposed to be essential to her story.
Papa was basically Zero Two’s Gendo, but he genuinely looked at her, the Nines, and the parasytes as kids and had a completely different mindset of outright just wanting to genocide Klaxosaurs and mourning over his “dead wife” as a religious man.
He does the Gendo things of making clones of his wife because he didn’t know that the source (001) was her. And he’s weirdly implied to be a better father to the Nines and kinda doing a Shinji thing on 02, as she was made specifically to replace 001, his assumed biggest enemy, and she’s the most “monster-like” child to him.
And this relationship he has with Nine Alpha explains that boy’s romantic and princely nature these Japanese hacks cut off to “make it more EVA/Trigger”.
Literally nothing about Papa, 001, and Virm implied it was a conflict where humans fuse together minds or something. That has nothing to do with being human or the meaning of being human. Virm themselves didn’t view hive minds as making them more human and likely sought over their dominion over the earth. 001 thought of humanity as a treasure. And Papa has Franxx put in restoration efforts of undoing stratification, making klaxosapiens like Zero Two more human, and the squad 13 project. His Nines are so expressive and open to squad 13, it makes sense if they get their humanity from Papa.
Which again was erased by these stupid pretentious weebs who fantasized more about high school than an actually cool fantasy/sci-fi world.

Yes. It was a massive element of the show that was thrown away despite Zero Two’s concerns over it being extremely legitimate. So the show can focus on Squad 13 doing nothing.
This element was a part of the good parts they’ve scrapped.
