His gimmick of being a hugely pretentious hipster loser is fun. He's also semi competent at a lot of things but doesn't excel at any (safe for the obvious one) so that lends itself well to gags. Plus he actually has a somewhat compelling character arc and set up with Wolf and has a better romantic arc with Nemu than Morihito and Nico do
