I had a negative era for a little bit but I very quickly decided to get out of it. I can appreciate developing a critical lens, but if that lens is tuned to only liking personal 10s then you’re basically just fucking yourself over with self-induced OCD. Hypercritical fans are at least less passive audience members than normalfags, but I’d argue that a healthier form of active viewing should involve wanting to get something out of what you’re watching and giving as much benefit of the doubt/charity as you can. Someone could say Aria is boring and thus unwatchable but to do so is simply refusing to engage with the intent of the work in the first place. I’ve also realized that judging things by their proximity to my favorite way to do things is similarly short sighted. If I like detailed late 90s cel animation the best, that doesn’t mean I can’t also like the unique aesthetic appeal of 80s anime or 00s anime. I wish you the best of luck.

They're creatively restricted by the higher ups, only the lowest brain numbing anime are allowed to be made. Deep insightful anime, fanservice anime, thought and lust provoking anime, all minimized in favor of formulaic moe cgdct isekai shounen power ups.

The movie is good but the anime should have been 24 episodes long. One of the coolest twists with Banana was just thrown away and I'll never forgive them for it.
